why gardening yesterday is ON topic

Sunday I was all set to post about a food I have that I regret buying. why I bought it, what I've been thinking about it, how I plan to deal with it and then, instead, I shut off the computer and got in my car.

I ended up at a garden shop and bought 9 bouncing baby perennials and I spent a large part of yesterday afternoon googling photos of how they will look when mature and flowering, what other people's experience with them had been, and planning where they should go. I planted some. I showed photos to some friends (yes, on the computer!)

was this a happy ending? well, it was a big step in the right direction: letting LIFE crowd out at least some obsession with food. but it's no ending.

OK, it was ice cream - Bryers Snickers, half gallon I have been dying to tell you  - and then I had enough last evening to make myself sick. probably I will throw the rest in the dumpster.

but, for awhile, I didn't think about it because I was busy living my life. and that is what it's all about.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

WHY did I HAVE to use the groupon I purchased awhile ago to get my Bakers' Dozen of bagels TODAY...up BRIGHT and EARLY this morning to be there AT the store at 5AM.  I am barely up that early to walk the dog, but for these "now" free bagels I was there.  I have now eaten 2 and a pinch and am sitting here waiting for the STUFFED feeling to go away...

mmmmm ice cream

gardening is so great and the rebirth that occurs in spring is celebrated by planting those new annuals. and tending them all summer gives you stuff to keep busy with that is not eating. its a win win - you get beautiful flowers too boot!

I can't wait to get into my garden. Gotta wait a bit for hands to heal up but i have plants in pots just waiting.  Diane
