Might be a little MIA
So, this might turn into a bit of a vent, but I don't feel like I share it anywhere else, and figured I should keep someone in the loop around these parts. . .
Good news first:
My husband landed an amazing job at headquarters here on our base. It's an amazing opportunity for his career, there really isn't much higher you can go on the Air Force food chain, and for him to be chosen at his current rank is fairly unheard of. For all of this, I am elated as it guarantees us 3 more years here, and much needed stability with a baby on the way. No deployments, no long hours, no insane scheduling. Plus, it's an amazing career move. In the Air Force world, landing this type of job is typically handed to an enlisted member 2 ranks higher than my husband. Bad part is, carrying that responsbility without the pay and benefits of that rank, but fingers crossed he promotes quickly in this position which is pretty much the path that this "job" offers to him for promotions.
Sprout and I are both thriving. I admittedly have been eating more food than I ever have in 2 years. It's insane, I've kind of just been eating to eat again, and it scares me a bit, but at the same time, I'm not packing on the pounds "yet".
We have decided to become "first time home buyers". YAY YAY, right? Yes, it's an amazing opportunity, the market is definitely a buyers market down here, and we've been pre-approved and ready to go.
All positives, joyous occasions, and I'm super elated.
Bad news:
My stress level is at an all time high. Our landlord who we have leased from for 3 solid years is now listing our home for sale on Monday as in tomorrow. HOLY **** BATMAN. . . So, now it's not about us browsing, we need to buy, and get the ball rolling. Grant it, our current home won't sell before we close on a house if we can find the best "fit" for us. Problem being, my husband and I are butting heads on houses. I'm all about compromise, but I am not willing to bend on a few things.
So, I've decided that I won't be around much. After living in this house for 3 solid years, we've made it a home. As a military family, you make every house a home regardless of how long the AF decides to keep you in one location. However, with making it a home, I've accumulated so much **** and the packing, organizing, and painting must begin. With my husband's new assignment, he will "TDY"(be sent to different locations for various reasons) frequently (possibly monthly for 3-21 months per month) which means that I will be doing the majority of this alone. I am not good with asking people for help, plus I'm anal and would rather do it "right"(my way) then have to direct someone else on how it should be done. I just want anyone that cares to know that I am fine, just extremely busy, and don't have time to be as active as I have been in the past. I'm looking to find, put in an offer, and close on a house by June 1st which is totally doable for our area. I want out of this house before she sells it out from under us.
Say a prayer, swing some chickens, something that we can come to a compromise on a house, and find something that will suit all of our needs, and self-imposed budget. Thanks for listening, and all of your support. I'm sure I'll be checking in, but I won't be around as much. Of course, I'm on FB way more than here, and always posting there. If you care to add me there, just shoot me a message.

It sounds like there are a lot of wonderful things going on in your life right now! With all that on your plate, who wouldn't be stressed? But it's all worth the short-term headaches. Just make sure to make your & baby's health Priority #1... but you already know that.
I know I speak for everyone when I say your input is always so valued & appreciated. When I first started researching my surgery, your posts on OH & VST were some of the most informed & insightful I read. I thank you for that.
Take all the time you need. We'll still be here laughing, crying, arguing and talking about all the same stuff when you get back. Best wishes headed your way!

Current weight: 170 lbs.
Once I reach goal, this cow will be killed & eaten... 2 ounces at a time.
Total includes 56 lbs. lost on 2-month low carb pre-op diet. Start date 9/13/10.
I just hit "send" in my thread about mourning and then see this. Ok, I'm about to cry. I would love to keep up with any and all on FB. Please don't go away forever.
It sounds like you are really going to be busy. I can't wait for pictures of Sprout. And your new home. Don't sweat it when it comes to weight gain. Watch it, but don't sweat it. Of course you'll gain some. Just don't let your pregnancy give you a "free pass" to have an excuse to go back to your old ways.
Maybe you could have a house warming party and invite all of us. (Nothing like inviting myself, huh?!)
You are an inspiration and we will miss you while you're gone.

Hey Tiff.. I don't really post on OH anymore, but just wanted to give you BIG {hugs}. I know the stress of the extra work without the rank or pay- we are actually in a similar situation with my hubby right now (well, starting in June), and the idea of the stress is stressful enough, lol. Good luck with the house.. I don't blame you for not bending on some things. It is one thing when it isn't your forever home, and another when your name is on the mortgage. I will keep in touch on fb of course! Loves ya girlie!!
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
"People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within." - Ramona L. Anderson
Here's hopping that you get everything you want in your new house and your new life with your new baby. I hope you find exactly the house you want and I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to compromise away your needs with the new house. I hope you stay in touch every once in a while so we can celebrate a bit with you. Until we hear from you again, take care of yourself and your family. Hugs.
