Maybe I'll cross-post what I'm eating today :~)
Ok, so I just came off a 3 month mini-bulk where I ate above maintenance by around 200-400 calories depending on the day. I put on lean mass and very little fat. I'd say I gained maybe 1lb of fat and 2 lbs of lean mass, and 1-2 lbs of extra glycogen stores. I wanted to keep going, but it's summer and I think I'll cut a little until fall when I do another slow bulk.
Soooo...cutting...eating around 400-500 cals below maintenance. I don't do B/L/D really because I eat so many times a day. My goal is to consume 1,400 calories a day on this cut.
buffalo chicken dip with celery (lasts me 3 "meals" or sittings...5 oz chicken, 1c. cottage cheese, 2 tbls blue cheese crumbles, 2 tbls buffalo sauce, mixed in food processor...400cal/62p/12c/12f)
roast beef rollups (deli roast beef slices with cottage cheese, blue cheese, and sweet hot mustard filling, roughly 150 cals, 20g protein)
almonds cinnamon/chocolate flavor (24 almonds, 160cal/5p/9c/12f)
later I will probably have:
protmeal (1/2 c. oatmeal with 1 scoop protein powder + splenda...270cal/29p/31c/4f)
chicken wraps (made in crockpot with cream of mushroom soup, velveeta, black beans, and rotel, wrapped in green leaf lettuce...roughly 100cal/15p/6c/4f)
And then maybe carbmaster yogurt with or without some Kashi cereal mixed in, depending on how full I am. (130cal/14p/19c/1f)
Total calories for the day: 1310 (added 100 cals for coffee with creamer).
protein: 145g
carbs: 77
fat: 38g

I am so glad to she that you posted. I am not a meat eater, I refuse to eat beef or pork, and I don't care for chicken, but......... I have to get protein in and I find it hard when I do vegeterian, which I love! I am not a protein shake drinker, so I have been making myself eat fish and chicken. You gave me some great protein ideas. I noticed you included carbmaster yogurt. Have you tried Greek Yogurt yet? I LOVE it!
I eat tilapia a couple times a week. I just bake it with some cajun seasoning on it. I eat it with broccoli or cauliflower with a little butter, garlic salt, and parmesan cheese. So good.
You can do tons with chicken. I'm always thinking of ways to make it "wet" because it sits heavy in my stomach when it's dry. Another thing I like to do with chicken is dice it up really small, add cottage cheese and a tablespoon of spagetti sauce, heat in microwave and eat. Tastes like lasagna without the noodles and packs tons of protein. I add cottage cheese to meats as much as possible because it increases the protein and makes it so I can eat more meat in one sitting than if I ate it dry. You can use greek yogurt in place of cottage cheese.
I've stopped drinking shakes because I got so tired of them, so I'm also always looking for new ways to eat protein powder. For instance, I just ordered some Xtreme Formulations Cinnamon Roll protein powder to mix in my oats. The same company also makes lemon cream protein powder that is supposed to be really good (will order in a couple weeks) to eat with cream cheese and/or greek yogurt. Can get these on Amazon. They are a casein/whey mix.
ON's vanilla whey is supposed to be really good mixed with a little water and some cream cheese, GY, or cottage cheese. Supposedly tastes like cake batter. (I'll have to find exact recipe - lemme know if you want it).
Greek yogurt is good. I'll be getting some this week to make some concoctions. But if I had to eat one or the other "plain," I prefer cottage cheese. I LOVE cottage cheese. For many months I ate it every night straight from the container.

You sure have a lot of good ideas!!!! I am taking notes!!!!
I started following the lower fat, low calorie version of Atkins just yesterday. I'm hoping I can break out of the God forsaken 160's soon. I've been here so long that I almost built a house and stayed......But I refuse to be here any longer. I'm leaving...whatever it takes.....I am gone!!!!
Of course this means upping the protein in a big way. I read somewhere that you eat over 100 grams of protein a day, and that is what you recommend. You gave that advise to a newbie. I'm shooting for that. You wrote it awhile back, but the advise just recently sunk into my thick carbohydrate addicted brain. I had only been getting 60-70 grams of protein aday. Your so successful, I thought I had better copy you and up the protein.
This protein post couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you.
