OT: Got Laid Off

Hey Marie,

Sorry about the lay-off.  I hope that what comes your way is even better for you career wise.

You've gotten great suggestions about making a plan.  I find that I still need to map out my food day, then say a few little prayers to the food God's to keep me in line.  For me being busy is the best.  I'm lucky enough to live alone so I don't have to have those grazy type foods in my house.  I still try to stick to my hard boiled egg question.  If I want to eat between meals, I check to see if I want that egg.  If I go YUCK!  I know to stay outa the kitchen.

Good luck on Saturday!!

Oh Marie, that sucks...but at least you have more time for working out!!  I'm sure you'll find something soon.  By the way, how's your knee/leg injury??  What's the Doc saying?

Laura

P.S. I don't work and have to watch it on the eating.  I structure everything around my gym time so at least I eat really well in the AM hours.  Afternoons...well, I gotta keep myself busy.  I'm not actually hungry at all, so I just have to be careful.  Then people start coming home around 4:30 and it helps to distract me!

Good luck on the job hunt. : )

I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you! That is the worst feeling, worrying about money. I actually have a long list of recruiters that I keep in touch with that I spam my friend's resumes to or my own when I am searching and I get tons of leads.

I have helped many of my friends get jobs in the computer field in this area. If you are interested please PM me your email address and other info and I'd be willing to send it out to my recruiter contact list.

Hi Marie, Sorry to hear about the job, but I'm sure that you will find something, since you are such a resourceful person. In the meantime, good luck this weekend and continue the great workouts!! If you keep busy by working out, maybe that will help you to stay on the straight and narrow with your eating.

sublimate - I'm working the personal connections first. Then I'll hit the recruiters (if I need to).

I have figured out some things I need to do:

-make lots of hard boiled eggs
-make myself have my protein shake for breakfast
-make myself take a real lunch

I think if I do those things, I'll be okay. If not, I have some other ideas for how to plan and structure my day.

I'm off to a camping triathlon weekend or I'd post more. I can't believe how busy I suddenly got.

i had the same problem when i was between jobs .. there was no way for me not to graze except that i had to get of my house and do something out doors .. i joined a gym which i figure you do already but i also started doing things i could not have the time to do like take long walks in the morning , reading a book .. you know what i mean.. actually it was some of the best time of my life i was able to relax..
i did not gain weight at the time and i exercised pretty well but i was not able to lose much because i did not plan right .. which is something i am sure you will manage.

you could really use the time and enjoy yourself the best way possible but just make sure you do not spend so much time indoors and you will be fine :)
