He's speaking at the WLSFA's "The Mother of All Meet and Greets." LapSF is going to have a booth there, in fact.
I'm just an attendee though I am doing a little fundraiser ... selling bubble wrap for people who are bored between presentations and want to pop it.

They provide "grants" so people can get free WLS and PS. They try to do one a year of each. Here's their website:

My understanding is the surgeons donate their time and then they fundraise to pay the hospital and other costs that can't be donated.
