OMG Close encounter of the third kind with slider food

Diane, I can't stand it, you are the coconut balls, I gained the two pounds.  I think these belong to you.  Here you go, you can have them.  I was good all day and gained two whole freaking pounds.   I wish I had some of those balls, at least I would know how they got there.  :)

I totally hear you about the slider foods.  They get more and more dangerous the further out we get.  There doesn't seem to be a natural stop with most of them.  What I tend to do is eat until I am full and then have a few bites right after my meal.  This way I really don't want that much.  If I wait even 10 min., I can eat so much more of the dessert.  I use this strategy every time I allow myself these kind of treats.  It works most of the time.

Hmmm, coconut balls must emit calories like radio waves and they settle on those who want them the least. its nuts. I gained a pound sort of - scale wouldn't settle down. but again i know that what i eat doesnt show up in 24 hours as real weight so you keep that in mind on your two pounds. just part of the natural fluctuations we have like waves on the ocean.

Anyway, I am over the incident and learned some important lessons. Will have to develop a strategy for future holidays with these friends as the EDQ will be there always and really likes to show off her formidable baking skills.

And hey, like you i ended up with a pathetic protein count yesterday. drank a protein coco to make up but didn't get the full amount. But today is a new day for both of us.   Diane

Oh I did the same thing too.  Looks like we are not alone here!  Mine was nasty potato chips and various dips and mother in law's famous banana pudding.  I actually made myself nauseated...gross...but I kept going back for more.  I could care less about the calories because I know that I rarely do that but Gawd I felt puffy yesterday (we had our family gathering on Saturday).  And I hardly ate a thing yesterday so that was 2 low protein days in a row.  I feel better today and back to the gym to help sweat the crap out.  So much salt...yuck.  Don't feel bad about it, just move on and go back to your regularly scheduled program...that's what I do!

I think it's a good idea to move on....it's over, it's done!  I'm going to stop pouting now....

I'm still laughing at EDQ...that is so funny!!!  What would the world be like without them????

All I can say is that I wish my daughter had served coconut balls because I don't like coconut!

But, NOOOOOO, she had strawberry pretzel salad....my favorite!

And on a full stomach a 2" x 2" square went down very easily.

Oh, and about 4 (yes, 4) Reeses peanut butter eggs (but they were the small ones, not the standard size)

I did extra time on the treadmill twice today and strength trained too.

I've just got to get this last 5-6 pounds off.  I'm getting frustrated with myself - even though I know exactly what I need to do to stop the madness!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

well I know you will get that last five off. it will happen and probably all of a sudden after weeks of nuthin'.  the oldest pounds are the most persistant.

yeah i am over my coconut ball fiasco and you are over your easter issues too. Sounds like everybody had a bad encounter with the easter bunny. hopefully we are all "reborn" into eternal life of slimness. (hope this doesn't offend anyone but if it does - oh well)
