Okay is anyone five foot three and start out at 345 pounds and get to thier goal weight have you regained ? Do you regreat having vsg instead of rny?  I have a so many questions about long term results and if the surgery worked I just need to talk to someone that is several years out.
I am close to the criteria you have asked for. I am almost 3 years out.
I had surgery in June 2008
MY BMI was over 51 when I started 5 ft tall, weighed 263 when I started
I got to goal and have maintained my 135 lb weight loss for over 2 years.
My original goal was 140 because I believed I could/would never weigh any less however I have hover between 120-125 on an given day.
So YES it was possible for me to get to my goal and stay there without significant regain.
I did not want RNY because I wanted to be able to take meds like Advil/Motrin
I did not want to deal with possible complication/problems/issues related to malabsorbtion
I did not like the fact that with RNY malabsorbtion of food/calories dimishes markedly after about 2 years while malabsorbtion of vitamins/minerals goes on forever
I did not want to have to fear any food and wonder if the next food I ate would cause me to dump or some other unpleasant impact on my tummy/bowels etc.
Whatever you do is it truthful, necessary and kind?
