Fruit
I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on fruit are.
For the most part, I stay away from simple/starchy carbs except on my "cheat/off plan day." I really don't worry about good complex carbs. With that said, I eat a TON of fruit. I have since maintenance and it has worked for me. I am not having any issues maintaining, etc.
For example, today I had a large banana, large granny smith apple, 1 cup of watermelon, ¼ cup strawberries, ½ cup of grapes, ¼ cup of cantelope and ¼ cup of pineapple. It is always planned and I don't go over my calories unless it is a "cheat/off plan day" that I allow myself once a week (as long as weight is in the appropriate range)
I try to eat as much unprocessed foods as I can, and fruit is just the perfect summer go to food for me, I guess I just wanted to get a feel of how much/if any fruit you guys have.

5'5" and a size 0!!! Woohooo!
I find i really appreciate fruit these days. Don't eat that much of it but would rather have a side of fruit than veggies with dinner. REally like those little clementine oranges. love apples but one is too big to eat at once.have had about 3 bananas total since my surgery but each one is a big treat. melon and berries are great too but quantities always an issue. Just brough home some homegrown grapefruit someone gave me. Can't wait to eat it as for years i took meds so i couldn't eat grapefruit. since vsg, no more meds! and grapes are my candy. really enjoy them went wanting something sweet. Diane
I am really into blueberries and strawberries. I do try to limit my portion because I don't want to get full on fruit and not be able to eat my protein. I love to slice an apple and put peanut butter on it for a snack. I can't eat a whole one either but I am better about not getting mad at myself for throwing away so much food.
I love fruit and recently started eating more of it. today, all I had was the apple slices in my salad but the day isn't over yet.
I find that fruit as a carb doesn't bother me, no weight gain no cravings like with, let's see, Ritz Crackers!
sounds to me like what you are eating is great. fruit tastes so much better than veggies I thought I'd start trying to eat more and then work on eating more vegetables.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.
size 8, life is great
I kind of miss fruit and like to incorporate it as I can. Lately it's been black plums. I used to love my oatmeal with soy milk and banana but it is just too many carbs for my latest eating plan. So I found that if I slice up a banana at my perfect idea of ripeness (a little green on the edges and still firm) and freeze them flat on a sheet, they are a perfect little treat (no more than 3 slices). And they do not get black! They just stay at that perfect state (am I a bit of a control freak about my bananas?) I also slice up a granny smith apple cause I can only manage about a quarter of an apple at a time. I put the slices on a plate and sprinkle with truvia and cinnamon. A dollop of homemade protein ice cream (eggface) would be good with it too.
I try to limit my fruit to no more than 2 servings a day. I don't think our bodies are made to take in that much fructose.

I might have a serving or two a day, but not every day - mostly sticking to protein and veg. This is more a matter of preference than conviction, have never been a huge fruit eater, although I do eat a lot more during the summer fruit season.
I do keep frozen berries and mango chunks in the door of the freezer and during the summer toss a few into blended protein shakes. (When the weather is cold I am a protein coffee girl!)
