Whoot!
I wishwishwish I had had this done before surgery and when I called goal! Ah well.
Further proof of what we know, not all pounds on the scale are equal.
You've done great with building all those fine muscles to burn calories and fat. I'm working on doing that now that my back injury is healed enough to put weights in my hands.

I have one of those scales that supposedly gives you your percentages and I haven't done it for awhile but I think I approx. 1/3 each: fat, muscle, water. I am guessing that is REALLY bad! body fat in the low 30s? BOO!
once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.
size 8, life is great

For this first month, I hired a personal trainer to get me started, but I'm not going to be able to afford to do that going forward. So I'm trying to decide whether to join a gym or try to continue on my own at home. I've been good about doing my aerobic work at home, but the strength stuff is trickier and there's so many ways to do it wrong, lol. I've always hated going to a gym, but that might be the way I go. (Of course I hate all exercise, too, but I'm really trying this time to make it a habit). The gym that's closest to my house is the one on 6th (?) across from the Taco Bell and my trainer also teaches there, so that's the one I would join if I decide to go that route. How about you? Do you go to a gym?

There are some body sculpting classes that are offered in the AM and one in the PM, that incorporate weights and aerobic exercise that would be very helpful. I attended one class, when I was off one day, but I work during the daytime and can't attend the morning classes. Another one that I have always wanted to take, is "On the Ball."
I did go to my first TRX class on Monday evening, which was very challenging and was definitely something that I wouldn't have been able to do, if I had not been weight training for the past few months.
So, I work out with a trainer twice/week, take a pilates Reformer class once/week, and another day or two of cardio. I am going to add the TRX class, since it is such a great workout and incorporates cardio. I'm in the gym 3-5 times/week.
It is a beautiful gym and people have been very nice and helpful.
It would be nice to meet for coffee sometime. Which Starbucks is the closest for you?
Gail
I'm not a huge coffee drinker so I don't know where all the Starbucks are (my husband knows, I'm sure!) but I could meet you at one that's convenient for you. We live downtown-ish...

I know that some of the classes have been rearranged due to your trainer's injury. Knee surgery takes a long time to recover from.
I haven't been drinking much coffee, since surgery, but I have grown to like my skinny lattes (nonfat milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup).
It would be nice to meet.
