I'm watching it now, I'm recording it so started it late and have it on pause,  but  its really scary,  I'm older so the food we got the ladies cooked it every day in the kitchen.  My daughter just turned 34 and so the food wasn't as good as when i was in school,  she brought her lunch a lot,   they would send home a calander with the menu for every day and she would write yum or yuk   on the yuk days she took her lunch.   This just breaks my heart.  His first season was really an eye opener.   They are feeding our kids garbage.    We are all in a big problem here our future as a species is in serious trouble.  God help us all.   I even heard of a school that will not allow kids to bring their own lunch???  This is still America isn't it?  How can they do that?  I heard it on the news and i was shocked.  I'm so scared for  all the children  in shcool these days  :(

ok gonna go finish watching it.

why wouldn't they let kids bring their lunch?  all I can think of is they are afraid kids will bring peanut butter sandwhiches when other kids are allergic to peanuts? that's all I can think of.

it's stupid, that's for sure!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

No, that's not it.  It was because the lunches from home, were actually worse than the school lunches, at least that was their explanation.  I personally smell a financial incentive.

I totally agree,  how can a nice sandwich  or veggie wrap with fruit be worst for you than the junk they are feeding our kids?   That"s just BS,  Somebody is making a lot of money and our kids are getting sicker and sicker    :o)  jeani

I hear you.   I did the same thing.   I will never eat another chicken nugget.  And i have to tell you,  the first show of this season was on last week,  he showed how they make ground beef.   Long story short,  its exactly the same way they make chicken nuggets only with the left over beef they can't put in a nice plastic wrapped container.  I will never eat ground beef again,  unless like he said,  you see the butcher grind it up for you.   They take all the left over bones  and etc,   wa**** with amonia,  and its all the crap that years ago got thrown away.  Made me sick wathcing it.  I had no idea  :o( jeani

Will have to check out this show. But school and other institutional food is so horrid heath wise. I think i wrote about being at Mayo Clinic last fall with my brother's thoracic surgery. He was on a ward with heart transplant patients. You should have seen the garbage food they brought him - mystery meat covered in gravy. And the downstairs cafeteria had chicken fried steak with white gravy, onion rings, mac and cheese and a whole parade of horrible stuff. It was possible to get a salad or  yogurt but there was not one thing in the hot foods section that i could consider eating and I was in maintenance  phase. Its unbelieveable how hard it is to eat healthy in some places. Michele Obama has her work cut out for her.   Diane
