It absolutely amazes me how a measly 10lbs can screw with your brain so badly ... it certainly did with me. I got to goal - stayed there for probably a year and then gradually put on about 10lbs.
I felt like it was the end of the world and it totally wrecked my head - all the feelings of failure and hopelessness returned with gusto.
What really got me back on track was joining a gym. I haven't really done a lot of exercise since my surgery 2 years ago and when I joined the gym and started doing group classes (for motivation) I got hooked pretty quickly and try to get there 3-4 times a week and walk from home another couple of times a week.
The 10 lbs have gone - more so because I don't want to 'waste' all my hard work by eating crap. My body has made obvious shape changes and I feel so much better again!!
Because I have always suffered with mood issues (depression!!!) I have been forcing myself to exercise as much to get my head right as well as my weight and I stand by the whole exercise being as good for the mind as the body!
