If you are struggling, stalled, or discouraged, read this
Well, I'm not struggling or discouraged....I'm in a controlled stall........ am I content....overconfident.....???
Hells no...... I'm afraid....afraid of failure.....fear keeps me on track.
I stay accountable by the hour.....
Does that mean I'm obsessed? Call it what you will...... Do you know anybody that is successful at anything that wasn't just a little bit obsessed? Obsessed....passionate....same thing....
Does that mean I don't live.....and enjoy life....ahh....No.... I'm living everyday now like it's a dream come true.....cause that's what it is!!!! I've wished for this all my life !!!!!
I try and live by a few sayings I picked up along the way.....
"The harder you work.....The luckier you get"
and
"Luck is where preparation meets opportunity"
And my newest one......which pertains to Elina's sign off message...
"Teamwork makes the Dreamwork"
So that's my plan for now..... working on Fear and Livin the Dream !!!
Also...just so you know....I am interested in every ones "Plan" I know things change....it always does....So my other plan is to study and prepare for changes..... long term success will be all about hitting a moving target.
Great post as usual Elina...... "If you fail to plan.....plan to fail"

Along with all the before mentioned suggestions, exercise is mandatory for maintenance. All the research shows that long term success with weight loss, involves exercise and journaling. Nutrition is so important during the losing phase, but for maintenance, exercise is also key to keeping the weight off. Weight training is great for building some muscle, whi*****reases one's metabolic rate and burns calories. With exercise and weight training, one can eat more calories.

You are 100% right. I've read all the studies, tried to motivate myself in a billion different ways, and so far, nothing. Exercise is a huge key in maintaining weight loss. I am on board saying this should be done. I am the worst example to follow when it comes to exercise. Follow MacMadam or Brandilynn or so many others on this topic. I just don't have the street creds to bring it up. Go exercisers go!!!

you rock, Elina!
people can come here and know they can do this. lots of people in all kinds of situations have made changes for the good and permanently.
life gets better with weight loss and not only because I am smaller: I know I can make change for the better in a more general way. weight loss? check. exercise? check binge eating? ongoing.
living happily ever after? here I come!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.
size 8, life is great
This is great - and what I needed - I did the horrible thing I never thought I would - started eating all the bad stuff again....for months I could get away with it - seemed I stayed the same even when having ice cream and cookies late at night....but about six months ago my clothes started getting tight and the scale kept creeping up ....and now I'm fighting to get rid of the apx 10 pounds I've gained! I never got all the way to my goal - thought I looked so wonderful at 155lbs & didn't want to look scrawny since I'm 65...but now I'm starting to get the double chin, bulges around tummy and thighs - butt is spreading out....all very depressing and no one to blame but my ridiculous self.
So - I will print this out and stick copies of it on frig, etc. - and start keeping track of what I eat again and not allow anyone to bring the "goodies" into the house until I can get this fat back off...wish me luck!
