Xpost 5 day pouch and other questions
I am 10 pounds away from my ultimate goal of 125. I feel I will never get there and have been struggling with the same 1-2 pounds. Well, last week my doctor changed my blood pressure meds and Ihave had a 3 pound increase. So, I've decided to try a modified version of the 5 day pouch test. Tell me what you think:
B: Protein shake with strawberries and milk
snack: 1 hard boiled egg
Lunch: More of the breakfast protein shake and a cup of creamy chicken soup
snack: hard boiled egg
dinner: not sure! Any suggestions?
I'm really afraid I won't be able to handle a full 2 days of liquids. My blood pressure has been crazy and I'm getting light headed as it is. I'm afraid I will get really light headed and not be able to concentrate at work (I'm an adult ed. teacher). That's why I'm kind of doing a more modified version and concentrating on soft proteins.
Any suggestions/thoughts on how I can get this last 10 pounds off? Any suggestions for dinner?
Thanks every one for your help!
Heather

Hi Heather - I don't know you so probably shouldn't offer advice but what the heck. for me, the 5 day pouch test is a CRASH DIET and I am done with those forever. that said, some people think it's great.
what have you been doing?
if you are relatively strick with calories, have you tried calorie cycling? I don't have personal experience with it, just an idea: this link is from doing a google. I do know when I could eat more calories - about 6 months post-op or so - I lost weight faster.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.

"some people think it's great"
Not me! I agree about it being a crash diet. I see people praise it but I also see a lot of those people have to constantly be going back to it over and over. It's not something sustainable and it doesn't teach you good habits because the kind of eating you are doing isn't normal eating.
I think it's much more sensible to come up with a plan for how many calories you want to eat every day and what percentage of those should be protein, carbs and fats, and follow that. Then write EVERYTHING DOWN so you *know* what you are eating, know what works and doesn't work.
But I already ranted about the 5 Day Pouch Test on the other thread. I should shut up now.

Don't ever shut up, we love your rants and raves. I am with you when it comes to the 5 day pouch test. It makes no sense to me to do the crash diet when you have a tool to use like the sleeve. Just work the tool. Make an eating plan and stick to it. If it doesn't work, tweak it until it does. I think I am preaching to the choir.
