Thank You Sleeve! Turning 60 feel like 40!

While none of you younger folks would understand that it feels good to feel 40 the older ones can truly relate. While I am still far from my goal I am celebrating immensely this birthday. About a year and a half ago I wouldn't have given much for my future, in fact I thought I was at the end of my life. I gathered all my resources for self-healing and decided I was not ready to go yet. I made the decision to have this life extending surgery. There I was one step away from permanently having to use a wheel chair, not able to walk or even breathe and here I am today bouncing around doing more than I thought I would ever be able to and amazed at my mobility. I am grateful to tears!

I rely on these forums for support and feel like you are all my friends. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all!

What will I do for my birthday? We are going bowling! While all my other friends are complaining they are all willing to entertain me with a few games. Who cares if we score high or throw all gutter balls. This girl just wants to have FUN!

Hey and if anyone else is planning a trip to Hawaii, stop by and say aloha!
Wish you all were here!

Great post......We all go through this with different parameters.......

For some of us...... It truly is about getting your life back.....

I had to hit the wall.......had to look in the mirror and say..... I'm not done yet.....

I really feel like I played my last card........otherwise it was game, set, match.....game over.....

Congrats!

Congratulations and Happy Birthday.  I can tell you that 60 definitely felt much better than 40.  My avatar was taken in New Orleans at my 60th birthday celebration last October.  Life definitely rocks better with a Sleeve!

Well,  Happy Birthday!!  I turned 60 the month before my surgery and i was in BAD shape.  I had high bp, elevated triglycerides, borderline diabetes and then got arthritis in my hip and could barely walk,  I limped around for almost a year before i got this surgery.   What a miracle.   All my health issues have been resolved and i am now pain free.  I feel better now than i did at 40 and next week i will be  61 and so much healthier and happier than i have been in many moons.   I see some people worry about doing this at our age but i say do it   no matter what your age.   This has given me my life back.  I am not at goal yet either and i'm still working to get there but for me i am already a success because my main reason for doing this was my health and i have it back and intend to keep it.   Thanks for posting and i hope you have many more years of health and happiness.  :o) Jeani

Happy Birthday!!!! I am 57, and the VSG and 100 lb weight loss have given me back my life. Severe sleep apnea is gone, pre-diabetes is gone, joint issues are gone, and my energy level is so much higher. People tell me that I look like a different person. I feel like a different person.

Have FUN!!!!!
