Well for the past few weeks I was totally in an exercise funk and just feeling down in general. Lots of stress in my life and I haven't been fighting it as much as I need to right now; I've been letting it take over as I am weary. So earlier today I was feeling a bit glum but then decided to get my butt over to the gym.

I ran a half mile and then did 1.5 miles of speed walking and feel so much better. I also did a bit of meditating and positive affirmations while I was on the treadmill and that really straightened me out emotionally. I had a lot of unhealthy negative self talk going on in my head and I needed to change that recording. Felt MUCH better after I went to the gym.

It's hard to see some times when you are in the middle of it that forcing yourself to go will make you feel better in the end.. when you start sometimes you don't feel it but for me afterward I feel so happy I made myself go.

Now I just have to remember how much better I feel and remember I need this to help me cope during these rough times. I might take my son out later today for a walk too. Thank you for keeping up this thread. Hugs...

I totally understand that when you feel in a funk, it is hard to get motivated.  I have found that not only my body needs exercise but my mind!  It really works like a prozac for me and I try to remember that when it is hard to get to the gym and I am too tired. so.....  Tonight when my husband comes home, I am outta here to go to the gym.

Yes totally.. it totally picked up my mood!  Before I went I felt like going and curling up in a corner and having a good cry.. but after I was all pumped feeling.. what a difference 30 minutes in the gym makes!

I was thinking that it was so nourishing for my body and mind and soul that I need to not deprive myself of that vitamin "E" (exercise) anymore!  I also try to do it in the morning ideally as it starts my day right, but if I can't fit it in then I do it on my lunch break.  Worse case scenario I do it in the evening if I fail in the morning and at lunch.

It seems like I don't have the desire to snack when I exercise. 1 hour walk during lunchtime. Going to the gym tonight after work. Goal is 1 hour of interval training on treadmill. Let's see how it goes.

Hi guys! Went to Bally total fitness for 1 hour. Did 20 minutes cardio and I felt good. Did some machines and when I got home I did some free weights in the mirror cuz I'm seeing some changes in my body and it motivated me to do curls and stuff

Did some push ups at home too....I'm on a roll!  Told my boyfriend and it got him psyched up and eventhough he's dead tired from working on his boat all day, he went to the gym too!
