trying to add produce

Bananas are a slider food... I often eat one a day.

Be careful of grapes though. The skins can cause me to get a "stuck" episode if I'm not careful and don't chew them thoroughly enough.

I'm surprised about the grapes - I can eat anything including grapes and the only time I've had any stuckness it's been from over eating. never any particular food. well, not counting early out.

I did have a small episode of "slime" while on my road trip: had a bison burger and just eating the meat was sooo good I went too fast. didn't know I could still slime but I guess I can.

wow that meat was good, though!

It's only when I don't chew them well. I can feel almost whole skins in there and they take longer to digest and can be uncomfortable.

I love grapes and have no problems with them.  I find a lot of fruits to be slider foods for me.  I can eat a lot more of them now then at first.  Veggies fill me up more.  But I do worry about not eating enough of both.

Right now, I'm eating a Wendy's 1/2 size apple chicken salad.  I will eat the chicken and about 1/2 of the salad. Yum!

I have the same problem.  If I choose a veggie as a snack, it doesn't stay with me like protein does.  I have been eating fresh strawberries.  I need to do more leafy greens or broccoli because I have been having some bruising.  The NUT says that I may not be getting enough Vitamin K.  They are going to check that in a couple of months if I'm still doing this.  Guess I better get busy and add to my diet to see if there is a natural remedy.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

if the veggie doesn't stay with you, can't you just eat another snack an hour later or however long it takes until you are hungry again?

more veggies are good and you get to eat again: bonus!

I guess you're right.  I guess I have a hard time adjusting my eating pattern to accomodate things like that.  I'm still learning!  I'm sure I would be fine as long as I stick to veggies or very low calorie fruits (like strawberries) for those snacks.  If I let myself wander over to eating other snacks more often, I'll be shooting myself in the foot.

Oh what a tangled web we weave to keep things in check.

I can eat about a cup of food at one sitting...my goals are for lunch and dinner to have 4oz meat and 1/2 cup vegetable...my snacks might be 1/2 apple with string cheese or whole apple.

so a cup of veggies and maybe an apple a day, does that seem like it's enough to you? getting in nutrients-wise, I mean, not getting full-wise.

well depends on WHO is defining enough?  My labs now that I can eat more are coming back great which is the only thing I can really use as a guideline.

Because I chose to alter my capacity food wise I fell I will almost always have to do some vitamin supplementation so I do.
