Want to Know My Secret - Xpost
Thanks Mike. This is a really nice post.
I've found three ways to satisfy my sweets craving without (to date) impacting the scale.
1) Baskin Robbins has sugar free sucking candies in ice cream flavors. I allow myself two every day. I particularly like the cookies n' cream and the mint chocolate chip.
2) Some days I allow myself a few squares of dark chocolate. The calories and carbs are surprisingly low.
3) Some days I allow myself a diet coke. I gave them up completely for the first 3 months - but since I've found that an occasional diet coke really helps battle my sweet tooth and head cravings.
The above are pretty much the only carbs I've been getting from sources other than veggies or beans. I miss bread and wish I could have a slice of English muffin like you said, but my stomach still can't handle it, and I am actually grateful since it does make it easier for me to stay the course.
Anyway... thanks for sharing your maintenance tips. Hooray for support groups.
