More Talk of Secrets

Ok Jimbo, Frisco and Elina, you guys have really started something with the main forum posts on
"My Secret to Losing 300 lbs" and such. An inspired idea. Jimbo, what have you been smoking? We KNOW what you drink.

Anyway, why can't we do the same thing based on maintenance here in this group? Anyone who has maintained their weight loss for a year or whatever period of time you have, start a thread here entitled "Wanna Know my Secret to Keeping 100+ Pounds Off for Over a Year?"   Several out there say they are maintaining fairly easily and it would be nice to know in detail exactly what they do.

So how 'bout it?  Whats your maintenance secret? Inquiring minds want to know.

Diane

I like reading everyone's secrets.. it is like a peek into their minds imo. I am not jumping anywhere near this bandwagon though, lol.. I know better.

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Thanks Diane. We are not all maintaining. Although I wonder if people still call it maintaining if they are 6 lbs up.

The scale finally  moved when I gained the 8 lbs over Christmas and I am down 2. So, I am almost back to goal. Am I maintaining?

I know those 8 pounds are taking their toll on you ... But, I say you are DEFINITELY a maintainer.  You are going down & you certainly aren't going up any higher.  We all have to deal with some fluctuations - you are doing fine.

Revision from Sleeve to DS (with re-Sleeve) on 10/10/17. Slow and steady ...

well your not alone what ever we call it ......  I would say your maintaining maybe not  maintaining at your lowest but your not  constantly gaining either ..  seems fairly stable with a down ward trend.

I so wi**** was  not a struggle but i think its still a learning process for us, we are are at this for life now and yes we may have ups and downs and we are having to learn how best to live our lives with what will work and not work for us... neither of us have thrown our arms in the air and said we give up so its just finding our way now..

Yes, you are still maintaining. A little bounce back is normal and doesn't count.

It only counts if you continue to go up and up and up...

I assume you are saying that due to the "C" word.  (Sorry Jimbo) ... but please feel free to share.  Not all of us count carbs religiously.

Maybe partly, but not really. The truth is, I don't really think there are an universal secrets. I think that the things that are universal can go without saying, like take your vitamins and drink up.. Everyone already knows these things and the rest is all different from person to person. I think I would offend a LOT of people if I just started a thread saying that the secret truly is to just find your own way and stop looking to others to make your path for you, kwim?

Bingo Fawn, it's different from person to person!  You said a mouthful.  What works for me ain't gonna work for everybody cause I know most people HATE to exercise...but it's just my thing...the thing that works for ME!

But don't you think that knowing other people's "secrets" gives you a toolbox of stuff to consider in finding their own path.
