My goal is to burn 3000 calories a day per my BodyBugg. As I lose weight, I find I have to pick up the pace of my exercise to meet that goal. Yesterday I only burned 2880 so I tried to pick up my exercise pace today.

This morning I did more than 1.5 mile on the treadmill, in about 25 mins. I ran as much of it as I could and have been noticing that the length of time I can run has increased. I try to set challenges for myself, like run a certain distance or a certain length of time, and then always try to beat my own score.

Makes it a little more fun and I can very tangibly see the increases in my ability. For example the longest I could run before would be about 40 seconds. Now I can run for 2 minutes at a time. I'll just keep trying to beat my own score, like a video game. I also love to see how many calories I can burn on my Body Bugg screen.

Today I was able to run 1/10 of a mile at one time, at a 4.3 mph pace. So my next goal is either to run that at a faster pace or for a longer distance. I also ran at 5 mph at a 4.0 incline for about a minute, so gotta top that one too.

That's how I set my own personal fitness goals, is to compete with myself.   Also I often see how fast I can run a half mile, and my best time ever was this morning at 7:28 (combo of running and fast walking).  So that's the time for me to beat. :)
