Piggybacking on Fawns topic
As some of you know, I had started tracking my food again to see where the one pound I gained might have come from. As of this morning, the pound is gone, but my husband threw a wrench into my plans by throwing away my scale and buying a new one without telling me. GRRRRR. So I am not really sure how accurate the weight is. It is kinda driving me crazy. If anybody has a suggestion for a really dependable scale, please share. Anyway, the results seem to be that my diet varies quiet a bit from day to day. I eat between 1200 and 1800 calories with about 50-80 carbs a day. Since I don't exercise, that is not bad and I don't feel deprived. I eat more calories and carbs the week before my cycle and eat a lot less on day one through seven. I also seem to have very strong cravings before my cycle and no cravings at all after it starts. I am eating more calories than I thought I would be able to eat and still maintain. I really think this is because my carbs are still pretty low. I asked my skinny friends how much they eat and it's pretty much the same, but many of them eat more carbs, maybe closer to 100-150 carbs. They are also a little taller than me and exercise more. That is the info so far, I am curious how different people maintain.
Are you asking what our intake macros are? My vary from day to day depending on movement.
Sunday cals 2459, fat 116, carbs 109, protein 264, the breakdown is 41% fat, 42% protein and 17% carbs.
Monday cals 3026, fat 147, carbs 144, protein 280, breakdown 43% fat, 3% alc, protein 36%, and carbs 18%
Tuesday cals 2145, fat 112, carbs 70.1, protein 221, fat 46%,protein 41%, carbs 13%
Wednesday cals 2893, fat 165, carbs 96.8, protein 274, fat 50%, protein 37% and carbs 13%
Past month average cals 2374, fat 122, carbs 132, protein 201, fat 45% alc 1% protein 33% carbs 21%
past quarter average cals 2187 fat 118, carbs 110, protein 182 (that was before I started adding the 9 egg whites!)
Is that all you wanted, did you want exercise?
Weighing, I have about a 5 pound bounce. I went back and got all my 1st day of cycle weights and they run the gamut with no steady weight.
Also, maybe if you are referring to Fawn's post about the experiment you would put that in the title too? Or a link to it? Just so if someone is reading this, they dont have to keep asking which of fawn's topics there are (since there are more than one!) and they might get pushed to different pages.
Yea, I know, a slacker like me, it ought not seem like I care that much about those things, but I think its the "documentation" part :}

Wow! Brandilynn you are an athlete. I think you could snap me in two like a tiny twig. I want to eat like that when I grow up too. it makes perfect sense to me though, you are at least five inches taller than me and you lift weights and exercise so you really need the energy, extra protein and even carbs to feel good and maintain. I can tell you lift by your gorgeous arms and back. What a great way to maintain. It really is impressive how much hard work you put into this, the exercise, the journaling, and support on this site as well as the reading you obviously do about these issues. It really sounds like you have this tied up with a neat little bow.
Bows can come unraveled soooo quickly!! :} Which is why the journaling, head work, and stick around support! Its just reasonable insurance, for me.
And too, I *always* exercised even when I was heavy, I lifted weights, I walked a marathon at 200+ pounds, climbed Mt Khatadden on my honeymoon! :} hiked the dogs the same heartbreaking hills, albiet at a much slower pace, you just could never *see* that I was strong underneath until now! And too, feel safe, I mostly only use my powerful muskles for good not eeevilll!!! :}
And too, anymore, a good 500ish of those calories are protein shake/almond milk/eggwhites, so - its not all a chewing party.
The carbs come from my steamy veggies/naval orange feeding I eat with my iron every day, and from the Hershey Special Dark Cocoa/Naturally More Peanut butter Havarti cheese burrito I have at least once a day! I do not do any of the "do not count the carbs if its green" or whatever for hinkey math, just straight up carb counting.
A goal of mine was to be "joyfully" active instead of begrudgingly so, and whomp! Here it is! Yaay!! '

I have this scale and am very happy with it..... It's a little more serious than most I see people I see using on this board...... but it is dead nuts on to Cirangles Scale and my Cardiologist (Certified)
I thought it was a good value for a precision tool your gonna use everyday for life. I just added it to the cost of my surgery.

I maintain by journaling my food, keeping to about 1200 calories, 70 or less carbs and 70 g protein. It seems pretty meager by most people's standards but I am comfortable with it so far. Have always felt I have a slow metabolism. I am trying to get some exercise but its spotty. But thats pretty much the boring truth. So far its comfortable but I keep fearing hunger will come roaring back like the old days.
Our scale is a syn-tech that is made for barriatric patients and is what my doctor's office has. My husband got it as he is obsessed with high tech electronics. I think it will go to a very high weight. No telling how much it cost. But its accurate as compared with doctor's office and has a digital readout on a cord so you can hang it on the wall if you want.
