Please vets, help a newbie out..
Hair loss. I know, I know you're all tired of responding to this issue but I'm feeling very stressed. I promised myself I wouldn't worry about it because it grows back right? Plus my hair is (WAS) thick. Well....I can clearly see my scalp on top/sides now! Can those who experienced hair loss help a sista out? When did it stop and most importantly, did it grow back? I have consistently taken the required vits and eaten the proper amt of protein from the beginning. I realize it "just happens" to some no matter what you try to do to prevent it. I'm just looking for some reassurance that I won't be the first bald bariatric patient! Thanks in advance for all your help/advise. Hugs.......Jennifer
I took Biotin during that time......can't tell you if it really did anything.... I will say my hair has grown back thicker/fuller.....and I was thinning......kinda like I got 10 years back.

I had thin hair to begin with so mine was really obvious. I took the opportunity and donned a wig and let the color grow off what hair I had left. I kept my protein really high and my hair started to return. Now it is a matural gray plus it came back thicker and curly. What a surprise! I have always want naturally curly hair and now I have it. There is always a silver lining to every dark cloud. Just be patient and take care of youirself.
My surgeon recently spoke at my support group. Of course the question came up! He said that there are no products, supplements, nutrition that will help avoid the hairloss. He said that it will stop when the rapid weight loss was over. Mine stopped at around 9-10 months and started sprouting new baby hairs along my hairline. Now at 13 months it's really filling in quite nicely and I can see that I'll have to start scheduling my cuts closer together again.
Hang in there. You won't be the first baldie unless you pull it all out worrying.

Hey Jennifer,
a few days after I started taking Vitalady's Tender Iron my hairloss STOPPED! I had a tremendous amount of hair and no one noticed but I knew half of it had fallen out. It is growing like crazy now.
vitalady.com (I don't work for them, nor do I get free products, but it saved my hair so I recommend them)
I had noticed that I was getting bruised more easily than normal around that time, so this was the right pill to include in my vitamin regimen. I still take it.
My hair never came back the way it was. I used to have thick hair. Now, after 3 years, it's still thinned out but I never went bald. So doubtful you will. When I went through the "scalp showing" period, I wore it in a pony tail. That lasted about 6 months. Then little hairs came in and I got some confidence to wear it down again. Til this day it's still not the way it used to be but honestly, no one really noticed, but me. Now product helped, no amount of protein or vitamin. Just was the way it was.
