My OH friends are the best!

Our daughter did well with the colon surgery.  They did discover an additional issue with her small intestine trying to create its own bypass, so that was surgically corrected too.  We left Des Moines to come home (2 hour drive).  We're both really tired.

Sister-in-law passed about 1:20 this afternoon in Omaha.  We wish we had been there to help her husband and children cope, but just couldn't be.  We looked through pictures when we got home and will drive them to Omaha (also 2 hours away) tomorrow morning so he can have them when he goes to the funeral home.

*Sigh*  Life sure delivers some blows sometimes.

Thanks to all of my wonderful OH friends for your kind words and prayers!
Wanda
Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

So glad that everything went so well for your daughter and so sorry about your sister in law.   Life can be really challenging at times,  and you have double trouble right now.   Try to be good to yourself in these hard times and continuing prayers for your daughter. :o) Jeani

Wanda, I am so pleased and relieved that things went well for your daughter and wish her a speedy abd uneventful recovery and hope this helps resolve her health problem. It sure is stressful to be in that waiting room and then doing all the traveling. I used to live in Omaha and made the drive between Omaha and Des Moines a zillion times. Know where all the rest stops are. Hope the roads were not bad and glad you are home safely.

And please accept my condolances on your sister in law. A loss is never easy whether expected or not. We will all be thinking of you. You are going to be in for a busy couple of weeks (of course you know that) so don't forget to take care of yourself by taking your vitamins and whatever supplements you need and doing your protein. Your husband and family will need your strength and I have a feeling you are a very strong lady. Its kind of you to take the pictures back to Omaha. Those gestures mean a lot and will not be forgotten. And know that you have done right by all of your family throughout this ordeal and thats the most important thing.

Check in when you can. We'll be thinking of you.

Diane

I'm sure glad to hear how well your daughter did and equally sad about the loss of your SIL!  What an emotional run you've been on - be good to you!
