Aunt Flo moved out of my house, too... and I couldn't be more thrilled...she loved anything sweet.  Now it's a really good burger or medium rare rib eye.  Weird thing for me is, pre-WLS ribeyes were too fatty and medium rare was gross.  Not sure where that comes from.  But finishing off with  just a little bit of chocolate is still heaven. :)

I have always loved chocolate and sweets.  I was hoping after surgery I would not want them any longer - no such luck.  Also being from Texas, I LOVE TexMex food.
I still work daily at eating enough meat and usually get about 80 proteins in.

I used to crave sweets a lot but I have been low carb long enough that sweet things don't appeal to me as much anymore. When I do have my cycle I crave sweet things like chocolate but I'm usually satisfied with the sugar free stuff.

Nowadays I crave cheese and nuts a lot. But I've always loved fatty red meat, like a good steak (bloody and rare of course). Being on low carb/fat for this weight loss, I have not started craving carbs again at all, but I regularly miss things like full fat blue cheese dressing, mayo, cheese, bacon and other higher fat items.

I am really looking forward to eating those things daily again on maintenance (hope I can!). Since I was a child I always craved meat and *naturally* wanted to eat low carb. My favorite foods were hot dogs and pickles and I would have happily lived off of those foods.

When my mother would make various foods I would want to pick out the meat and fat portions. So for instance she would make stroganoff and I would really only want the meat and sauce, but would have to take the noodles as it was expected.

I wanted to eat my hot dogs without buns, and I was even happy eating them cold. In fact the low fat craze made me crazy because they wanted to cut out my favorite foods.. meat and fat, and I was led to believe for years that my natural desire for meat and fat was what MADE me fat.. grrr.

The main thing I missed on low carb was sourdough bread and desserts.. other than that I was totally happy. I hate low fat. I learned to make a ton of low carb desserts so I was totally content, but I couldn't lose weight because I was eating way too many cals on low carb.

If I were to design my "last meal" I would have filet mignon, shrimp with lotsa butter, artichoke cheese dip with sourdough bread and baklava for dessert. So mostly fatty/meaty stuff with a nice dessert.

Yes, hot dogs are the best meat (especially uncured ones) , and I like mine with the skin of the pig, hooves, etc. inside them.. those are the good ones.

Yes, and the disease ridden tubes of animal parts are best first when you roll them around in some garden soil before eating.  Stop.. I'm getting hungry now.  Sorry you asked? :)

I did work for a North Carolina hospital where pica was rampant!

I also do psych work now, and pica is rampant, and worthy of those "Weird **** We Found in Somebody's Stomach" shows.

But definitely not as interesting as a "Weird Not-**** We Found in People's Rectum" show.  Whoohooo emergency room work!
