Wow, blocked my FIRST person on OH today

Good for you. You have every right to block anyone who annoys you. I have blocked several people just because they were so negative or argumentative, even if not directed at me.
This journey should be full of joy and discovery, not negativity and conflict. Kick em to the curb and feel no remorse or guilt. If this was real life and not the internet, you would not go to their house or accept their phone calls, so why listen to them here? I think yo are great, and it is only my opinion that I care about lol

Thanks guys. I really hate to block people as I feel I should be able to hear most points of views and be OK with it if doesn't match mine. But I feel that she is just using mean names and personal insults to make her point and I don't want to deal with that.

The adult thing to do is to block someone and just go on about your business.  Was it really necessary to get on here and announce it to everyone and actually hurt another poster's feelings in the process?

I agree.. I don't wanna know why I am blocked or point out those whom I have blocked.

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Sublimate, I can understand the reasons behind the block- don't feel bad. Her posts come off as excessively militant and negative in tone.. regardless of the point of the posts. That's a shame as I think almost everyone has some wisdom to share.. that can be lost when the message is delivered in such a fashion.

As much as she rallies around "fighting the lo-carb cult" she's being as fanatical as they come in her message, as it's her sole topic of conversation.. and frequently posted in an antagonistic way against others opinions. There are people such as Fawn who make no bones about what works and doesn't work for themselves.. and that's wonderful! That's the way it should be, we each have our own path to walk. What works for you, her, or anyone is not going to be the same..

There are people who for one reason or another do seem to single out a person to harass, and it appears you were the target regardless of her insistence that she was just sharing her own path so others could see that lo-carb isn't required.. that's great for her.. but man, she needs to tone it down a bit. I think we all get it. Some can do more carbs than others.. some cannot. No one is in a cult, except perhaps her, as she's fighting the lo-carb message like she was the carb-savior and we are all the heathens that need saving..

For some, lower carb is necessary, for others a more moderate approach works.. for others, just portion control is all that is needed... Diversity is amazing huh?

Yes diversity is amazing!  Thank you for your understanding.  It was disheartening to find out that someone was bad-mouthing me on another board and I tend to be transparent about stuff like that. I don't think I should have to suffer in silence about what was said about me and my friends.  I felt I could share my feelings here about this.

The person in question wasn't named directly, but they had no problem insulting myself and my friends in a manner where it was clear who they were speaking about. They also had no problem stalking me on OH and responding to my every post.

In my book if you are going to go around throwing personal insults at people you get what you deserve back. I tried to ignore it but I felt I needed to advocate for myself and share with others what was going on. Sorry if you don't understand the way I'm looking at things.

I don't know her or you, but I read here daily.  And I felt sorry for her.  It cannot be fun to get publically called out like that and then everyone jump in and pat the other person on the back for doing.  I don't like to see people hurt.  This is high school behavior at its finest.

I can understand that, but I didn't go around insulting her or saying anything about her.  She brought that on herself.  If I had said something like that and it was misunderstood I would have tried to apologize to the person.

I never have intentionally gone out and bad-mouthed or hurt people, but I don't think I should have to slink away or keep my feelings inside when I was attacked. I don't think it makes me a bad person to defend myself.

Except, since she's blocked, she can't read Sublimate's posts. So the only way her feelings would get hurt is if someone ran to her and told her what was said...

which I don't doubt someone did but I think that says more about *them* and their desire to cause trouble than it does about us.
