OK, here is how my mind just processed your iodine line.  I thought, "great, I should now eat a case every day"!  Darn addiction.   :)

Ooops, sorry Elina I wasn't thinking! I don't think you'd want to "spend" 1,200 calories on a case of that anyway ;)

My suggestion would be to buy one and eat it right there in the store.  You will almost certainly either love it or hate it.  If you love it, get a lot, it becomes a bit of a habit.  I also find that if I open the package and let it sit for about 30 min., the seaweed becomes soft like a fruit roll-up.  I can then use it to smear a little cream cheese or hummus and put anything else in and eat it as a sandwich.  I still prefer them crunchy like potato chips right out of the package.  Also, I know this is the opposite from what we are told to do, but if I drink tea or water as I am eating this, it expands in my stomach and makes me less hungry.  Try it, see if you get the same experience.

So on the "wow, it's amazing how different we are" vein, just a caution about TJ's seaweed snack.  It was probably the nastiest, foulest thing I ever put in my mouth (and no jokes here guys!).  Fishy, flaky, and stringy, all at the same time.  Ewww!  I had one bite and tossed the rest of the pkg.  So if you've never tried them before, start with ONE package - you can always go back for more if you discover you can't live without it, LOL!

I totally agree with you about us being so very different when it comes to taste.  I caution everybody to just buy one in the store and try it right there.  If you hate it, no harm done, only .99 cents wasted.  My kids can't get enough of it either, but my husband could take it or leave it.  My kids tell me that they can use it as bargaining chips with other kids at school who want it, while others think it is the weirdest thing in the world to eat.

I have only found so far two things that became like that for me, one was peanut butter but it comes and goes and the other was  a pie... I often wonder with the peanut butter if there is something in it that im lacking at the time that my body is craving because it does die down only to raise its head at a later time..

The pie well im not sure about that but i just dont make it often enough to affect me even if it is a low carb pie with a nut crust and topping... (maybe for me its something in nuts im lacking)

If we're not addicted to food then why is it that I can hear a cookie calling my name from two rooms away?  Why do I give in to the cookie, all the while knowing that I should not be eating it?  Why, even in the throngs of guilt from the first cookie, will I allow a second one past my lips?  Not an addiction? I think not.  I've often said that the only difference between me and a smoker is that I take my addiction in the warmth of my kitchen and probably wouldn't eat cookies if I had to stand outside in a Buffalo winter to do it!
