I'm not sure about having to learn it - I think you can google around, read a bit, and have at it. like exercise, any kind at all helps and you don't have to be scientific about it.

basically, letting all of life's distractions GO and focusing on your breath is worth doing.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Oh I am lovin' this!!  I could have used this last night....

In general I have been wanting to meditate and look into living in more of a budist type way...  so this is just the nudge I needed...

I am going to Google this also, see if I can find a video to walk me through it... and try to incorporate it into my day... perhaps I will even add it to my Sleevin' & Achievin' goals... so that I am reminded to do it daily... especailly if I only do it for 10 minutes each day, and use it for the extra stressful times as required...

Thanks Jackie!!

Hugs,

Cindy

hugs back, Cindy. I think any kind of meditation is better than carbs for feeling that feeling of relaxation!

Imma try, too!

This sounds really interesting. I have always envied those who could shut off their minds for a little peaceful time as I have never been able to do it. But would like to try especially since my martial arts program is sort of zen-ish.

I have a good friend who has been fighting leukemia for over 10 years, going through numerous drug trials of experimental drugs and side effects. He really takes charge of his health issues but one thing he does is meditate with a group - I think at a buddist or zen temple though he doesn't practice the religion. Seems to have really helped him remain grounded through all the stuff he has been through. Don't know exactly what they do but I know they take turns being the time keeper as while meditating you should not be looking at a clock!

Thanks for posting this.
