Am I at goal?!?

I would just do what you are doing and see what happens.  I am beginning to believe that it is best to go to the low end of normal BMI for most people because the bounce back is so common and it is so much easier to lose early than latter.  If I knew then what I know now, I would not have freaked out at getting to 101lbs.  I would have just let my body find the right place to stop.

I am also in that same boat!

I have changed my goal a few times and just had my visit with my surgeon. He said I was doing great and any more weight I wanted to lose would be cosmetic. I was shocked!!

So where does that leave me? I wanted to get to 150 but maybe 160 is a better goal. So once again I changed my goal weight to 160.

I haven't exercised like I should but have started walking with my walking sticks and working out with light weights. Soon I'll be swimming in a few weeks now that it is warmer. So I'm hoping to put on some muscle and we will see how that goes.

I would keep doing what you're doing and go a little lower for bounce back.  I stopped when I hit my goal and now wish I would have gone down another 10.  It would probably have been easier when I was in the "zone" than it is now.  I am finding maintenance harder than losing, but all in all, I guess I'm maintaining at the high end well.

I think  your'e right Diane.  I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and see what happens.  I'm comfortable with my eating habits now.  I have the occasional treat and don't feel guilty about it.  I lost another pound today, so I really think I'll keep losing  slowly.

On buying new clothes.  I went overboard this weekend.  Went to Cato and bought several tops with a gift card that I got for Christmas.  Then went to Kohl's...bought more.  When I got home yesterday and started pulling things out of the bags and hanging them up, I found I had bought 13 tops and 3 capris!!!!!!!!!!  OMG I was in major denial about how much I bought.  But it was sure fun!

New transfer addiction?  Good thing I live 2 hours from the nearest city.

My 1 year labs were perfect.  I'll just keep exercising and eating the way I have and see what happens.  Thanks for your advise!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Hey Wanda, I just want to say congratulations!  You've done great with your Sleeve and should be so proud of yourself.

Why stop if you can still let go of a few pounds?  You may be glad in a couple of years that you did.  We have to keep eating healthy and exercising anyways, so what the heck?  :)

Been thinking about this Wanda. I think that if you want those extra 9 pounds off then go for it. If you are still able to lose at this point, regardless of speed, then do it. You are still in the weight loss window. And in the past week how many posts have we seen from people who have had a small but upsetting regain. Although my surgeon doesn't come right out and say it, I think he believes in getting off every pound you can when you can because of the rebound  factor. I believe I have posted about him telling me I was done at 137 and then me accidently misplacing another 12 lbs and him telling me no I was not to thin at bmi 21 and I was fine and don't sweat it. I just think he thought the 137 was as good as I would do. That may be what your doctors think.

So if you are comfortable in continuing how you are eating now and feel able to stick with it, then do it. Your body will stop at some point and its not quite ready to. and if you go back to your new doctor in six months with a few more pounds gone, they are not going to yell at you. Have you done your one year labs and are they ok? Thats important, but I betcha you are fine.

Good job girlfriend. Meanwhile, make a big deal about being at goal even though you are going to go a little lower. Goal is worthy of celebration and I don't mean with food. Buy some new clothes, get a facial or manicure or pay someone to clean your house. (that would be my treat of choice).

Congrats WAnda. YOU HAVE WON   !!!!!!!!       Diane
