After reading earlier that Diane was thinking of starting an exercise thread today, I went for a brisk 15 to 20 minute walk this afternoon. I started going to the Curves 3 times a week, but want to walk on my off days. Thanks for starting this....it's the motivation I need.

Ok, I DID do an hour of screaming aerobics today, and I AM a slug. I hate exercise. Hate it. I have done it periodically but I hate it. I didn't exercise at all during my weight loss but am now because, well, a) I know I should because all the doctors say so; b) it's good for my poor osteoporotic bones; c) I will turn 57 Tuesday and that's RIDICULOUS; d) I need to lose this bit of weight I've put on....so for the last 3 months or so, I have started doing step and aerobics at home with DVDs (and old tapes!)

My extremely fit, thin 20 y.o. daughter is home from college for the weekend and she did this DVD with me, and I am not kidding, she was sweating worse than I was. It was a major NSV for sure!

Then she showed me some of the exercises, both strength and stretching, that her personal trainer has her doing...and I can see I'm not quite ready for the Olympics!

Lizanne - good for you!!  and LOL at Screaming Aerobics.  I have been doing mild aerobics but it's better than nothing. I'll do em again today for sure.

the hard part is the days I work.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

ok, so I did about 18 minutes of brisk walking, some of it with weights, and then started cleaning out the garage.
I played with the grandkids some, and now here I am at the computer, and probably won't do anything else today.
Talk about slugs, I could give anybody competition as chief slug.
Thanks, Diane for the encouragement to keep moving. I need it.


Editing to include a later walk outside, thanks to the encouragement of my OH maintenence group. That extra 15 minute walk was not much, but it was more than I would have done in this cold weather if not for the encouragement of my peers.

You know your thread title just dared me to read the thread, didn't you? LOL

Anyway, I really need to get back to doing a long bike ride every weekend but I have a commitment to do something during the big group ride I do every Sat. So I am sitting around trying to convince myself to do it today by myself and having trouble.

But if I post here, I have to do it, right?!

Hah, I knew you and others would look. Its good. Everyone can use this thread for exercise reporting. It will help keep us all moving. The weigh in thing works so why not this? ! 

And yep, if you record it you gotta do it or the exercise police will come after you!

 If you want i could be the "coach" I will track down people and YELL things like "DROP AND GIVE ME 20.....YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF S**T!"   Too......harsh?     just a thought.
