Don't Read this if you Exersise Regularly

Ok all you slugs (me being number one slug) this is a new daily feature for those of us *****ally hate exercise and have trouble getting it done. We know its necessary. So I am going to start a daily post sort of like the Daily Weigh-In for the benefit of those of us who are exercise challenged.

The idea is to report in and become accountable for doing 15 minutes of exercise say 6 days a week. Any sort is acceptable. We want to build in the habit and not to start out with something so daunting ( i.e. an hour and a half of screaming aerobics) that we will give up without starting. Whether you build up to a lot more is up to you; there will be no nagging or shaming. Just a way to kickstart some of us couch potatoes (albeit slim couch potatoes).

I will start.  Today I did my Aikibojitsu martial arts class. Who else did 15 minutes today?

Of course, those of you who are regular exercisers are welcome to join in and post whatever you do. Might give the rest of us some ideas on things we might want to try.

I still haven't done anything physical today, but heck, I found and put on my tennis shoes. No really, for those of you who know me, this is a huge accomplishment, as I never ever wear tennis shoes. :) OK, after reading your post Diane, I am off to walk my dogs for 15 min. Will edit this post when I actually do it. Baby steps, baby steps.

I just returned from a 45 min walk. Mission accomplished for today.

hey, this is a positive step. exercising takes more planning and organization for some of us. I for one wear rebocks most of the time so nothing to stop me from walking or exercising on short notice right?  somehow doesn't work. and BTW, no shoes allowed in the dojo where i do the aikibojitsu. I actually wear bedroom slippers there because my feet get cold! I look like a dork. Diane

I think I should be #1 slug - I was doing 15 minutes three times a week. honest, I did it this morning.

I need this.  I want to exercise regularly for so many reasons, I think mostly? I want my mind to work better!!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I like it.. and I will join in with you. I didn't exercise today though. I did, however, move tubs of clothing and boxes up and down 3 flights of stairs, clean, and generally run around.. that is everyday around here though so doesn't count. I am going to do 15 mins before my hubby gets home from mess night and edit this post when I do.. now that I put it into cyberspace I *have* to do it, right? ha ha..

ETA: ok.. so I ran up/down the steps 5 times, did 4 different ab exercises for 20 reps each, did ten push ups, and 20 lunges.. its all I got in me tonight.. lol.. night!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Today for the first time in a looooong time I walked 4 miles...

Hope that motivates someone...

Hugs, I am proud of you guys for starting with something manageable!

Thank you for starting this thread! While I DO exercise regularly, there are plenty of times I struggle with the motivation. In particular I find doing cardio much more motivating to do then my strength training, so my strength stuff doesn't get done.

I'd like to post to this thread to help get me accountable to get my butt in gear with that. I want my arms to look like Brandilynn's. I did 45 mins on the elliptical today but no strength training.

I will join too!! I def fit into the slug category however this week I have been a little better. I have started using some resistance bands and an 8 lb weighted ball. The "routine" has been taking about 15 minutes. I started this about 4 weeks ago but jumped in with both feet instead of easing into exercise. Tore/pull/strained (whatever) a stomach muscle and wasnt able to start bac****il this week. Lesson learned I am easing into the routine this time!!
