I keep seeing all these posts for this stuff. I see it in salad bars. I put it in my salad cause I heard it was good protein. But You guys talk about dry and roasted. Where do you get this? do you buy it and roast it yourself?

I have never seen it in the stores dried and roasted;  Only in the frozen veggie section!

i don't know for sure because i haven't seen it either, but i would check a health food store or coop. Bet Trader Joes would have it too. Reminds me I am gonna look for it next time i am in the hippie health food coop where I seem to be finding myself more and more these days.   diane

It is sometimes found in the "Ethnic" sections of main stream grocery stores.

Or if you have an Asian market or specifically a Japanese market that may be your best bet.

Diane's suggestion of Trader Joe's is a good one also.

I bought some in the bulk section of the local grocery store, Winco. It was with the nuts. I find it pretty salty, so I'm looking for some low salt or no salt to mix with what I have.

My favorite are the Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame.  I like their Lightly Salted ones, but they also carry other flavors.  I found them at Big Lots of all places, but you can order them on line too.  They have 70% less fat and 40% more protein than peanuts.  130 cals. per 1/4 cup and 14 g. of protein with only 10 carbs, and 8 g. of fiber.  The sodium is pretty low with only 150 mg. per serving.

I buy mine at Trader Joes or our local farm market type grocery store- they carry plain ones, as well as BBQ and a few other flavors.. they taste just like nuts to me when they are roasted..

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

I don't have trader Joe's in this little hick town either.. i will look for it when I go out of town

I would suppose  you can buy it in the frozen veggie section and spread it on a cookie sheet and bake it. That would dry and roast it!

They sell them in the frozen "steamable" section as well. I personally can not eat them. For some unknown reason, they linger in my sleeve for hours. I ate them on a salad a few times, and then I'd eat another meal 3-4 hours later, and low and behold, I'd burp up little pieces of edamame.

A tapas restaurant that I go to with my girlfriends serves them fried with a dipping sauce, and all my friends rave about them. But, the whole burping them hours later, keeps me from eating them.
