Chicken Salad question for Sublimate

Good morning!

I had the world famous "Elina's Green Chicken Soup" for lunch yesterday, and today I am making the highly regarded "Sublimate's Chicken Salad", yum!

Question for Sublimate:

Can you give some measurements for the salt, garlic powder, and onion powder? I can't deal with recipes that just say "to taste", I'm not a natural born cook and if I try to do it to taste there is a good chance I will ruin the whole recipe.

Thanks!

I feel ya.. I'm not a natural born cook either. I would say about a teaspoon of each should be good. Then taste it and sprinkle a little more if you want a bit more flavor. I'm still refining that recipe b/c I need to measure it more precisely.

Now if you decide to do the beef jerky recipe, that one I'm really proud of and I feel confident that if you make it exactly as specified you'll love it. Every once in a while I make a winner and I feel the ground beef jerky is it!

Delicious!

I calculated 147 calories per cup, maybe because I used the 2% Fage yogurt.

Yay, I'm so happy you liked it!  For 147 cals per cup you can have 5+ cups a day and still stay under 800 calories.  I don't know about you but this stuff is so dense for me I can only eat about 1/2 cup.. so I can have 10 meals of this stuff at that rate and still stay in my calorie range. Yay!  I usually eat this for my main meals and then the beef jerky for snacks.

Be careful when "seasoning" food!    First rule when seasoning......you can always add more.......you cannot take it out!   Taste.....then add a bit....repeat if necessary.

Did you notice that for awhile after surgery your taste buds were super sensitive? It seemed like even a very small amount of plain old black pepper was like about 3 spoons of pepper and regular canned chicken broth was so salty it tasted like seawater! Not to mention the yuck factor of protein drinks which are now much more tolerable. So you are right Jimbo, easy to over season stuff for us sleevers who all now have highly refined senses of taste! I still can't eat beef or turkey jerky because its too peppery. Not a problem for my pre vsg self.
