I get the "your to thin" comment all the time. My husband continues to tell me he thinks I am to small and is not physically attracted to the new me and has not adjusted. Initially, it use to bother me, I would find myself eating more than I should; maybe subconsciously trying to gain weight. I told my husband he needs to get over it because I refuse to gain weight intentionally. It's weird because I get compliments from everyone but him. I am over it now, I feel darn good about myself and have 2lb to go and then on to real work - maintenance .
Today I went to the doctor and the nurse had my file and kindly said I think I have the wrong folder, this says you weight 258lbs and that couldn't possibly be you.

Just the other day a co worker actually used the words emaciated. I have learned that everyones opinion on what is an attractive weight is different. Someone may think that you're too thin when you're 20lbs over weight and to someone else, my 112lb 5'5" size 00 may be too "Fat." As long as I am happy and healthy then screw everyone!
5'5" and a size 0!!! Woohooo!
Oh yes Diane, I know what you mean. But nobody says anything to my daughter who is 5'8 and 120lbs naturally. Why is that?? Probably because that's how she's been all her life and people are used to it. She's very slim and healthy looking. Now, after she had her baby and had that "baby weight" (10lbs or so) to lose, people thought she looked a bit heavy. Now come on, would you call someone at 5'8 130lbs post baby heavy?? Of course not. It's all about what people are *used* to.
I'm sure you look beautiful and healthy.

Thanks all for all the encouraging comments. I really don't give a rat's a$$ about what anybody thinks except my surgeon, you guys, and my husband. So it was my husband thinking I am to thin that was sort of a concern. On the other hand, he is morbidly obese and should have this surgery but just hasn't come to terms with it so I am hoping. Wish I could get him down to the picnic on April 30th so he could meet a bunch of the success stories but his work kind of prevents that. Last day of the month is a big deal in the world of computers and business and not a day to take off.
Anyway, anybody have this issue with spouse? Gotta say he has not made a big deal about it and it hasn't been any tension or anything but just makes me wonder. Oh well, over the next year I will probably put back a couple of pounds and there you have it. Much ado about nothing.

Hubby thinking I'm too thin? Yes, for quite some time he went on and on about it. I think it was more about him worrying that I would continue to lose more. Once I was stable and maintaining, he was fine with it, though not thrilled. Then his friends and even his boss told him, " no disrespect, but your wife looks hot!" Now, he thinks I look hot, too!
He never brings it up anymore, unless I'm obsessing about a pound that I gained. He now tells me that I'm perfect!

I think you've got it Diane - much ado about nothing. I would guess your husband is just flat out used to you at a larger size and has not adjusted yet.
it's all good!
it's all good!
once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.
