It seems like it's easy for eveyone but me

I read everyone's post and their weight goes up or down by like .4 of a lbs.

I am really struggling. I am not hungry. I do fine all day long. It's the snacking after dinner that is reallly  hard for me to keep under control.

I also really struggle with socializing. Not everyone in the world watces what they eat. I go to functions where food is served, and it' really hard to hold on to my willpower.

I had none of these problems when I was coming up on a year. Now that I am coming up on
two, it's really hard not gain . It's so scary!

It must be tough to struggle with continuing hunger. At 15 months I am beginning to feel a little more hungry at times and can certainly sympathize with the desire for evening snacks. Seems like i have this desire more these days. Right now I am going to make a protein hot coco to  deal with this  and my low protein count for the day. Seems like finding other stuff to do in the evenings is a help in avoiding those nite time munchies.

And yeah socializing where there are hors d'hoerves and other slider stuff can be really hard. I am glad my whole circle of  friends knows of my surgery so it helps me refrain. but not eveyone has that situation. Do you think you are having more head hunger or real hunger? Either way, reaching for protein is probably the best thing. But you have kept your weigh off for a year and thats really something!  Diane

I know I'm not quite as far out as you, but please don't think you are alone.  I sometimes swear that I can look at a cookie and gain weight.  It's SO easy for the pounds to come back for me as proven everytime we take a weekend trip.

I fight the afternoon munchies when I'm at work simply out of boredom.  Others start popping popcorn or heating up things, or hitting the vending machine, and my brain thinks it's my time to eat again--hungry or not.

I've started making a cup of coffee on those occasions or reaching for a small handful of roasted edamame.  I just try to make smarter choices if I do snack.

We travel A LOT, which is similar to your socializing.  I have a new mantra that I'm trying out.  I will only indulge in the super special things that I don't regularly have access to at home.  No ice cream, cookies, etc.  I hold out for the super wonderful pizza, or my husband and I will split a glorious cupcake better than any at home, etc.  I am just trying to keep my head in the game and really THINK about my choices.

Good luck, and please know that we are all in this battle together!

Theresa

your not alone im still struggling to get the last 4 lbs of weight off i put on over christmas, snacking at night is not my issue its just coming off so slow it gets disheartening.

part of me wonders if 140ish  is where my body likes to be, my clothes still fit i think if i gained it anywhere its probably back in my boobs lol.... then another part thinks thats a cop out im still below my nutritionists goal but if i gain 4lbs every year ill be back up to pre op weight in no time... everyone else just cuts back and it drops off not me...

according to my bodybugg doing nothing special i burn about 1600 calories, well while that sounds good.. even eating only 800 calories is only having losses of .2 then  like yesterday i had seasoned chicken from sams club my meals were 3.5 oz of chicken every 3 hours and today up .8 so i cant win... its lean chicken and i gain haha..

But you know that pre-seasoned chicken and especially rotissarie chicken are LOADED with sodium right?  Especially the rotiss chickens are brined, so they are soaked in a salty brine and that helps the SALTY water get into the chickeny cells.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that in case maybe you didnt know.

yeah, but i did drink a gallon of fluid (green tea)... so plan of attack is to change things up, i have basically eating atkins stlye  but im going to give the Dukan lifestyle a go and see if that does anything better, since its only 5 pounds or so i have to lose  its 2 days pure protein and then one day pure protein and one day protein and salad vegies for me  .... still high protein low carb only difference is fat is limited and they have 2 tablespoons of oatbran a day which can be added to ff fage yogurt or made as hot cereal or in a muffin ...ill see how that goes, 2 days of anything is do able and pure lean protein is not hard for me to do....

im using salmon today...

Brandilynn's right.. it's not that the chicken makes you gain, it is all the salt and fake seasonings they put inside.

I've read that Costco's beautiful, delish chickens are shot up with a sugar mixture under the skin.  Not so beautiful after all as they make me gain the next day.
