Yea - I am a ***** but about the elephant in the room...
Do you really want some muscadine wine? I am glad to send you some!
I get that not everybody is in the same head space. Maybe its because in my living I am *paid* per black character, so when I see lists of "hey here's help" that is not ever even acknowledged, it flips some switch in my head.
Because people's time is valuable. We do not ever get it back! Once we spend it, its GONE. And it does not matter how many supahzillion dollars you make per second, or if your job is instilling good manners in people so they can grow up and be good citizens (human or canine citizens!) your time is still VALUABLE, and folks whistle up that they need help, folks rush in to share and then, nothing until the same question shows up from the same person, who did not acknowledge one single thing that anyone gave so willingly.
But you know, again, its *my* issue, and I get it, but man.
That's one huge pile of dung on the carpet they keep stepping around. Its not like a cobweb you can just toss glitter on and make pretty!
Although, maybe you could shellack it and move the chair over there and call it an ottoman. *shrug*
I dunno!?

I'm sorry if I whine!
It's amazing to me how hard it is to break bad habits. I had the band first, so I am past 4 years since I first had WLS. You would think after 4 years I would know that eating sweets makes me gain weight, and makes me crave more sweets.
But- I am starting to get it. This time, taking it off has been so much harder, I don't want to go through it again!

Sassy you are not a whiner. You are having some issues and are expressing them and seeking input. That ain't whining. The whiners are the ones two weeks out asking permission from the forum to eat things they know they are not supposed to or complaining they are not losing weight when they don't food journal and don't have any idea of how many calories they are consuming. Those are the folks who need a change of mind set as they don't get it. You get it; just having some rough spots. We are here to support those who are making an effort. We all have those rough spots. Its the nature of the beast. Diane
Sassy, you are not whiny. You are at goal and trying to hang on just like the rest of us here.
Now, there is a lady on the main vsg board who comes back every 3 months or so and says..."i don't know what to do, my weight loss stopped and I can't quit eating bread". She gets some advice and goes on her merry way and you don't hear from her for a while. But she always comes back with the same story. I swear she's on there every few months and has lost very little. That's the type of post Brandi is referring to. Might as well be talking to a wall...

Well girlfriend, there is a reason I post the VSG FAQ as often as I can.. to help people help themselves. I also have learned to scan the titles and quickly skip the same old posts. Maybe what we can do is come up with a stock answer page.
You know, have a page where we can copy and paste pat answers to the same old questions. I know that when I get frustrated with a post I better not reply because I just end up being annoying instead of helpful, and so might as well not bother, KWIM? Love you baby bean.

I do KWYM. I really do.
I do not even know if a stock answer page would matter though, when a person wants spoon feeding and then keeps spitting it back out instead of actually ingesting it.
Its like with Dr. Alvarez. We are sent a freaking book, probably like yall, with ****pots of information, diet pre, post, stages, things to watch for, what labs we need, when to have them, blahblah, and I cannot tell you how many folks complain that they do not know what to eat when! Nobody told them, and then I just flop down in a seizure, so I usually just point them back towards those pages and pages of information (you have time to ask here, but not actually read the information for yourself - got it!) and then go seize elsewhere.
Maybe its spring fever I have, or the end of the evil prednisone taper!
Maybe I just need to go visit Diane in the emerald triangle and get zen! :}

Sublimate, you have done a great service by posting the VSG FAQ segment often so that the repetative questions can get answered. The vsg forum is so different now from when i started on it two years ago. There are so many more people and several pages of posts per day rather than maybe 15 or 20 posts. I can''t read them all anymore but I used to read most of them.
One thought - on the right side of the vsg forum post list is a box that says VSG Information and has several sections about the vsg procedure, commonly asked questions and seveal other categories. I think it is prepared by several surgeons that are consultants to OH including lapsf. I am wondering if OH would allow an additional feature in this box which is something like "Common Questions answered by VSG Patients" . Don't know if it would step on any surgeons toes but it would be something that appears on the vsg forum every single day without need for other posting. We could contact OH to see if they would allow this. I contacted them when I started this maintenance group and asked about doing a vsg maintenance forum. they said no more forums but suggested the group. So they will respond to such requests. Can't hurt to ask.
