Currently I have the Lap Band and have for 4.5 years. Im having some issues with it and have gained back almost all of what I lost :-( I really do not want to have another WLS, but my doctor mentioned this one to me on the phone today.

When I had my Lap Band, I went into it with blinders on only looking at the positives. Big Mistake!

So, before I even consider VSG, I would like to hear from people who are several years out. Both good/bad experiences are welcome. Feel free to PM me if you want.

Thank you in advance!

Do you have specific questions? I would be happy to answer any you have. My experience has been smooth and easy and I wouldn't trade my sleeve for anything!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Getting that band out and getting sleeved was the best thing I ever did. I love my sleeve.
It's really effortless to live with. I will be 2 years post op in april.

I'm 3 years+ out from my VSG and nothing but great things.  I was considering the band when I first came to OH luckily my eyes were open to all the "possible" problems.  Had my VSG and never looked back!

I have had the sleeve for almost 20 months, and it has been a great ride.  The only time I would not recommend the sleeve is when someone has metabolic issues.  So for example, if you do not lose weight when you are on a low cal diet, you should consider the DS in my opinion.  If you have consistently lost weight when you ate 1200 cals. or less in the past, you should do great with the sleeve.

*chuckle*  I must have been posting at Gawdawful in the morning, I thought you meant you wanted feedback from revision folks!

I am 3ish months shy of 2 years and have not had any issues with the exception of something being wonky with my protein absorption.  I tested 1 point below low normal at my 1 year labs.  I have been drinking 3 shakes a day to make sure I get at least 60 g in a readily bioavailable form, but aside from that (and B12 and low iron at the labs) I have had no issues whatsoever, except the occasional egg salad!

I give the sleeve 3 snaps up in a z-formation!

I'm almost 2.5 years out. I love my sleeve. It's changed my life.

My complications are:
(1) got kidney stones at 7 weeks out from using the wrong form of calcium and not drinking enough water
(2) low protein levels in my labs

However the rest of my lab work is pretty awesome and I have body fat under 20%.
