Tuna Sashimi is a slider food?
For those of you who live in the Bay Area, my favorite thing is the tuna sashimi from Bristol Farms. It's raw tuna with a little sesame oil, seaweed and spices.
The strange thing is, I can eat 8 ounces of this stuff!!! It's almost pure protein, and solid protein at that, so why can I eat twice as much as I can eat of solid chicken?
I love this stuff so I don't want to give it up, plus tuna is so healthy, but 8 ounces is 400 calories, yikes!!

It's the fact that it is very tender and covered in oil. I can eat a lot more protein if I am eating it with sauce than without. You do not need to give it up, but I agree, 8 oz. is too much. You might consider measuring out 4 or 5 oz. and eating that. I wish I had a store that sells this in my area. That sounds so good.
I've heard Bristol Farms had great stuff but we don't have it here. We can buy a whole fresh albacore off the boat though.
I don't do sushi much so don't know if its a slider food. could be. regardless, i think another poster is right that you should measure 4 to 6 ounces of it for your meal and then have some vegetables or fruit. can enjoy the meal and get full too. looks really good. will try it next time i am in a city. diane

Me.... I don't eat the RAW fish........ (I think it was being force feed the stuff as a child....as I am Japanese)
But, I'm gonna pick some of this up....... it looks like it's ready for a HOT grill plate !!!!
BTW.... This is a common dish in Hawaii called "Poke"
For me cooked up.... I'm thinkin 3 meals.....
And Jen.... maybe try eating some with cucumber so it will hang in your sleeve longer.... Or eat a little cucumber salad first.
