Caffeine
I am a coffee lover - I drink usually 3 low fat lattes a day which are about 100 calories each and have about 11gms of protein each. They do have about 10gms of carbs in each too though.
There seems to be very conflicting info about the effect of caffeine on appetite etc.
Do any of you have your own experiences with coffee and its effect on you post sleeve? Also I hear very little about milk - do most of you drink it or avoid it because of the carbs/calories??
I have just started the 5 day pouch test today because I was having real trouble with the carb monster and just felt the need to detox - I am hanging out for a coffee though and wonder whether it will hinder what I'm trying to do!

I drink a regular coffee every day W/ a RTD protein drink mixed in. I like the little boost it gives me before I walk. I have not noticed any effects on appetite. I was under the impression "stimulants " suppress appetite......maybe in higher dose (3x per day) it negates the appetite suppression? also....are you using sweeteners in it? Artificial sweeteners sometime make people crave more "sweet" and your body may "react" to them like regular sugars....stimulating an insulin reaction. Leading to stimulating hunger. 30 carbs per day extra might be too much for you......how many total carbs do you get per day? and from what sources i.e, bread , pasta, cookies, or fruits, and veg? In my experience it makes a big difference!
I drink at least one skinny latte a day.. I like a special protein milk that only has about 3 carbs in it and 12 protein... either way in regards to the milk, I don't worry about the carbs in my coffee. I have not found caffeine to have any effect on MY appetite. Others may have different experiences though..
I drink one coffee each morning with almond milk in it (1 carb and only 40 cals per cup) and sweetened with stevia. Caffeine has been shown to be helpful to dieters and has some good points and bad points with regards to health. I've also done coffee with vanilla protein drinks too.
I wouldn't cut out the coffees but I would suggest either drinking it with almond milk or the vanilla protein rather than milk.. lots of carbs in milk and heavy cream packs on the calories, especially if you make your coffees really creamy like I do.

I do not have issues with caffeine, and I agree with MzMary, if milk worries you, carb wise, to change your milky substance. I use almond milk. I do not get cow milk because of carbs, but mostly? Because I am compelled to drink it all gone! Freaky me!
Are the carbs in your lattes from milk? Or are they from sugary things would be my only question!!

Definitely just cows milk and no sugar added (took a while but sugar free now!). Very keen to try Almond milk but just did a big ole internet search and it will cost me $33 to get a litre of the stuff in NZ!!
What I did find was quite a good video on how to make it yourself from some raw food guru - looked pretty easy so I'll attach the link if anyone is interested. She also makes a very cool looking seed/nut granola but I'm pretty sure it would be a calorie bomb and not sure I could stop eating it once I had made - cannot have cashews in the house - major binge material!
Going to try the Almond milk though - I wonder if the stats would be similar to what you guys use over there?

That shows you might can find some in your Pak N Save locally, if making it is a pita.
but that was 2008, it might be more available now, girlie.
For me, I just wouldnt add any honey to the milk and have it as is!
