POLL: How did you eat BEFORE WLS!!!
I was a volume eater and didn't/don't frequent fast food joints or like fried foods, but I love desserts.
B: coffee, bacon and egg on a roll, apple turnover
S: banana or apple, maybe nuts
L: roast beef, cheddar and mayo on a roll, lettuce, tomato, Coke Zero, 1 honey bun, banana or apple
D: whole wheat pasta with turkey meat sauce and fresh mushrooms, salad, sourdough garlic bread, Coke Zero, Haagen Dazs ice cream bar for dessert
no food after 8pm
I was a semi volume eater. Mostly I just ate too much of the wrong foods...I do live in San Antonio after all...one of the fattest cities in the nation. A typical day for me was a couple of breakfast tacos. Not a ton of volume there but very fattening. Lunch was Mexican food..you know enchiladas, rice and beans with flour tortillas and chips with salsa. Then after that I just grazed on lots of sweets and junk food till bed. Sometimes I'd have a structured dinner but I was usually too full from all the other junk. And if there was a cake in the house I would eat it mostly by myself till it was all gone...usually over 3 days or so. I ate constantly and it was crap food. BUT, I always went to the gym for a couple of hours a day : )) That's probably the only reason I never got over 240 pounds.

I personally feel it's good for us to see how far we have came since WLS!! I ate out at least 3x per day. I didnt cook since I was the only one in the house. I was a volume eater and easily consumed 3000-4000 calories per day! Fridays were the worst because I used to work 2 jobs. I would go to the full time job from 8-5 then part time job from 6-2:30 am. I was soo excited when Taco Bell started staying open later for their advertised "4th meal" it was perfect for me!!
B: 2 McD Sausage Biscuits with 1 hash brown (too embarrassed to order 2 but if I took my grand daughter out for breakfast you can bet I ate what she didnt finish)
L: Sonic large popcorn chicken with 2 ranch dipping sauces, large tater tots & large diet coke
D: McD 10 piece chicken nuggets, large french fries & large diet coke
S: bag of chips or cheezits (big grab bag)
Late D: Taco Bell Nachos Bell Grande & Regular sized Quesadilla (beef)
I am soooo thankful I no longer eat this way!! I only eat fast food maybe once ever couple of weeks if even then. I no longer have the desire to eat the crap anymore, thank goodness!!

I was never a volume eater, but I never met a slice of cake/brownie/etc that I didn't like!
Breakfast- Maybe one day a week I would eat cereal at home and then on the weekends we would make pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc. But the work week was either whataburger- I would get a taquito and hasbrowns or a honey butter chicken biscut and hash browns or chick fila chicken mini meal
Lunch- Never a big fast food for lunch fan so I would go to restaurants- take out. Chilis, Fridays, on the border. Horrible.
Dinner- husband would cook, pasta, something fried, we would order pizza or go out to eat.
I never ate all of my food but in between all of these meals, I would be looking for candy, cookies, cake, brownies, pastries, donuts. Ugh this surgery has defiantly not helped with that aspect of my addiction. I have totally had to change the way I think about sweets! I still have one day a week where I indulge in whatever I want which defiantly includes something deliciously sugary and horrible for me.

Tee Hee, this is like reading one of those old "True Confessions" magazines they used to have in the grocery check out lines (where I was buying bags of Reeses Peanut butter cups). I wasn't so much a volume eater but ate more than i needed obviously and tended toward sweets and carbs.
So breakfast was usually just coffee with half and half. Several cups. Lunch was some kind of sandwich maybe cheese or a take out burger or mexican. Not too bad up to that point. But when I would get home from the studio i would always start snacking on nuts, candy, or cookies. I would make a proper dinner of meat or pasta and vegetables or fruit and always some bread or other carb. Sometimes it was a pizza. Snacking continued into the evening with m and ms or peanut butter cups. I was a master of homemade cookies and usually had a few of those around. Often couldn't sleep so i would eat peanut butter on crackers late at night. So no one meal was huge but it was like once i started eating which often wasn't until after noon, then the snacking just increased geometrically. Guess I was never hungry in the morning because of junk I ate the night before. All this is since i retired from the business world. When I was a working professional, things were about the same except lunch was some nice restaurant lunch which was usually NOT the healthy low carb option. Plus someone was always bringing donuts or baked goods to the office and never met one i didn't like. I am amazed how much less my desire for sweets is now. Its not zero but its managable so far. Hope and pray that continues.
