Thanks for the reminder.  I wore out two pedometers last year and need to calibrate my new one to my step.  A friend of mine gets me a new pedometer every year for my birthday because I'm such a walkin kinda girl.

So as I was saying last night.  I got my pedometer ( I ordered it through work....not the best one ,but was cheap and is accurate)  It is a Fitbug.....you can upload your data to their website.   It will track your progress.  I find it to be very motivating......I find myself walking just to add on more steps!  At my work we have a wellness program.  The program offers
incentives for walking!   If you walk 10,000 steps per day, 5 days a week you earn more "vitality bucks" (my goal is 10,000 steps then 12,000 next! like 5 miles)  You can use them to buy itunes, ipods, movie tickets etc!  It is small stuff,  but little incentives do help!  After all I walk everyday anyway.  Get a pedometer and count your way to better health!

Nice incentive at your job for the steps. More places should do this. Good for you for taking advantage. I have a cheapie pedometer that i don't use much because its kind of dumb. Gonna look for a better one. I know i don't get anywhere near 10,000 steps but am curious about what i get since i am sure more active minus half my former self. Yep, a good thing Jimbo. Will look for the fitbug. Live in a dink town so who knows where i will find a decent one.  Diane

Love your profile pic Jimbo! I have a BodyBugg and I love it! It measures how many calories you burn and does it with a sensor that attaches to your arm. It is more accurate then pedometers or other calorie trackers because it measures your unique body temp, pulse, etc. and not just your motion compared to your weight.

I also find it very motivating and have a quota of calories burned each day that I set for myself. I do things like run around in the grocery store or extra cleaning so I can meet my quota each day. Reaching those numbers each day is so motivating for me!

Hi

I have a body Media GoWear Fit,  I think that it is made by the same company.  I think the pedometer is good, I like that part.  The calories burned seems alittle high.  I am going to see my Endo next week.  They do BMR testing, so I will see and compare my base calories.  Yesterday it said I had burned 2700 calories....I did Zumba and burned 400 calories then.... I like that I can see the calories burned. I should be losing weight at the numbers I am getting, but I am maintaining.  Rats...
