My very good friend and next door neighbor,  who has been very unsuccessful with her band, gives me food constantly.  And always gives me Truffles,  which i love.   What part of i've had major surgery and i'm trying to lose weight does she not get?  i was over there last nite and had a couple of glasses of wine and as i'm leaving she says " i know you're not supposed to have these but here" and hands me a box of Dove, individually wrapped dark chocolate.  I'm going to blame it on my being kinda tipsy,  i did eat some of them.   Really,  I'm constanly saying no thank you,  everytime i see her she's pushing food at me :o( cheesh!!  i really love her, she's a very sweet lady  but can you say enabler?  :o) jeani

at xmas a year ago, a well meaning friend gave me several boxes of sugar free chocolates. now i was maybe 5 weeks out from surgery and there was just no way i could eat any of that stuff.  So i thanked him, told him it was great, but took all of it over to our nearby senior center where they have daily card and bingo games and such and always have coffee and snacks available. I figured there were probably diabetics that would appreciate the stuff. so sometimes you just have to be polite and give that stuff away. This year he gave me one box of the same thing. at 13 months out and at goal i was able to eat a piece or two of sugar free chocolate each day without doing any damage so it was a nice treat. plus my husband ate half of it. so i think we have all enountered our share of well meaning pushers and just have to handle it as we see fit. and a bit of dark choc is healthy, so they say. And yeah, there is nothing better than truffles. used to make my own - some coffee flavored and some rasberry. sigh. a thing of  the past.   diane

Not sure if this is "weight" related, but funny nonetheless!  My friend's buddy went to Greece one year.  he brought back gifts for everyone.  He throws me a shirt and says "I hope it is your size!"  I hold it up and laugh......looked like a medium to me! ( I was in a 4X  at the time!) He's like........ "it's an XL!"   I'm like...... "in a child's size....maybe!"  I say.... "you wear a large.....you try it on!"  He puts it on and it is tight! (sometimes the sizing is off in different countries!) So......just for s&g.....I put it on!  I can hear the seams popping and tearing.  After it is on I come out to show them.  They are  ROFL!....me too!  I look like one of those beer bellied "rednecks" from the 80's with those stupid half shirts on, and the beer gut sticking out!  It barely came down past my moobs!  I looked like  20lbs of potatoes.....in a 10lbs sack!  He apologetically said "I thought it was bigger!"  I said  "don't apologize.....it was a nice gesture for you to think of my 6 YO niece!"

What ! Can this be? Our mysterious friend Jimbo has a picture now! Excellent photo - you look of normal weight. nice t shirt too.

Funny shirt story. at least you could laugh about it. Actually I believe the "bare midriff" look is quite fashionable.

A few years ago our garden club had a gift exchange and somehow the gift that i drew was a t shirt size medium with cute garden designs on it. . I knew no way would it fit as i hadn't seen a medium in 30 years. Only now am wearing them. Then we played the game of where you can trade your gift and take someone elses. So I did that trying to get the shirt to someone who could wear it and away from me, but the person didn't pick up on what I was doing and  wanted my substitute gift and then the shirt came right back to me. And then some older ladies with poor eyesight started talking about the t shirt and how it looked like it would fit me and i should go try it on and it would work and so forth. I was really embarassed. I knew it would not fit, did not want to try it on on front of folks and look like a stuffed sausage in front of everyone.  so i just said thanks and changed the subject. GAve that shirt away as fast as I could. Now I could wear it.   diane

Thanks,  but I'm not "of normal weight' yet! (but compared W/ my before pics......I'm pretty small!)   I noticed the Avi got squished when it was re-sized???  Now I look skinnier!  I guess that's a bonus!
I had the tee made after I got to goal #1.......#2 is coming soon!  I'm almost !/2 the man I used to be!

I've never received a weight related present and would be pretty pissed if someone gave me a scale or diet cookbooks, etc.  You guys are good sports and bravo for not slapping some of these people silly.
