My visit the plastic surgeon...good news and bad

I so know how you feel girl.  My tummy wasn't that horrible, but my butt and outer thighs...gross I tell you.  AND, I will need arms done as well despite all the working out.  And I just haven't been lifting for a year baby...but 12 years, 12 years fricking years!!  But I just could not control my damn food addiction...until the vsg that is.  Unfortunately, the damage was done and no amount of surgery is ever gonna make me look as good as I would have had I never gained the dang weight in the first place. Well here I am 4 months post op LBL/BL and guess what??...the outer thighs are drooping again and it looks like a revision.  Now the boobs on the other hand look great.  I was not huge to begin with and only skin was removed and I still have a 34C or 32D depending on the bra. No implants.

One thing my PS said to make me feel better is that he hasn't seen an anatomy like mine (under the skin) in 10 plus years.  So the weight lifting has done me good.  The amount of skin removed was 2.5lbs...that's it!  No fat, no lipo, just thin skin.  And he removed a 6 inch wide band all the way around.

You do look beautiful now as you are...but I do know how it feels to not like what you see.  And I still don't really either.  I mean, my tummy is great, but the outer thighs, well, they are better but not near tight enough.  PS says it's just the nature of our damaged skin and it will probably never look good enough for me : (

Hugs sweetie...

Laura

I've heard that if you can document rashes and other skin issues in the folds of your skin (under breasts, under a saggy behind where skin overlaps, etc.) they have to cover it with plastic surgery. So if you have that situation, start finding a doctor to document it for you. If your skin doesn't overlap or have folds in the sags, then I'm not sure what the answer is other than start saving every penny for PS.

So sorry to hear you are feeling so low about this Mandy!   My thighs look like a shar-pei dog.  UGH.  But at 59 years old, I'm just glad to be thinner and look half way decent in a pair of blue jeans.  But I do have to say, that if I were your age, I would feel the same way you do.  I would want to "fix" everything so that I could look normal both dressed and undressed.  So, I'm just posting to offer you a big old hug and wishes that you are able at some point to get the plastics.

HUGS!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

You don't come back from where we've been without souvenirs.  Unfortunately, not the kind I want to show my friends....

I have no PS advice.. but you are GORGEOUS.. I can admit that I have been secretly jealous of your body for awhile.. I know you do not see it like others do, but you have nothing to hide my friend.. your bikini shots make ME want to cry, lmao... We all have issues with our body image.. I HATE the way I look half the time at least.. but our disordered thinking doesn't alter reality hun, and you are a knockout..

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Thank you soooo much everyone. It feels better knowing that other people can relate. I often feel like nobody would understand - and they wouldn't unless they have been what we have been through.

I tried on some stuff today and took pics in the dressing room. I cannot believe how small (normal) my boobs are now. Just the past month is when this took place. They were still huge up until then. I'll post pics when I get time!

Oh - and I guess I should be happy that I look semi-decent in a bikini top. It's just the bottom that is the big issue in a bathing suit. :(

Ohhhh and one other thing that happened today! I was trying on tops at Bebe and the sales girl said, "No, you are not a medium, you are SMALLLLL. Let me go get you the small." So she brought back the small and it fit great! Then I told her that I just don't like how thick my waist is and I was squeezing my waist and she shook her head and goes, "Nuh uh, mmm no. There is nothing there. You have nothing there." Hahah she made me feel so skinny. :p

Mandy, first of all let me say that I am sorry that you can't have the plastics that you want (atleast not right now).  I wish that we all had the funds to get whatever we need or want but that is not reality for most of us.  Secondly, I think that you must not being seeing reality in the mirror.  I mean sure, I know we all pick the best photos of ourselves to post and all that but I just can't imagine that things are as bad as you say from seeing your photos....you look like you should be in Playboy my dear!  You are drop dead gorgeous Mandy and most women would kill to look HALF as good as you do so please stop being so hard on yourself.  Are you perfect?  No, you're not, but who is really?  Even models and actresses have things about their bodies that they don't like and what we see in magazines and in movies is NOT reality and we will never look like 20 year olds either and that is okay.  I feel way more sexy at this age flaws and all.  Enjoy your life and enjoy being the beautiful, sexy, and desirable woman that you are and let the idea of perfection go.  Enjoy the blessings that you have and quit worrying so much about what you don't have.  (All of this goes for me and all of us as well. lol)

PS  You made a comment earlier about A or B cups being terrible on someone your size and I have to say that that is not true either.  I am 6' tall and mine are a B cup now (down from a DD!) and they look great on my body.  They are definitely small but they don't make me look deformed or anything.  Sure, I would love for them to be bigger but not enough to get implants and I am certainly not going to feel "less than" because of them.  Ya know??

There is a third choice for plastics. You can take out a medical loan. I have decided to start saving up for them. Then, when my car is paid off, I will have a really good down payment, maybe even 50% of the cost, and I will finance the rest.

I was going to do it if my kid got into this charter school she wants to go to but then Mr. Mac tempted me with thoughts of getting an RV. LOL
