Pop

I am 13 1/2 months out and at goal.  I was wondering does anybody on here drink diet pop on a regular daily basis?  I started this around a month ago and really want to drink one every day.  What do you all think?  It doesn't bother me physically and I can't tell that I want to eat more like it is stretching out my sleeve.  Is this bad?

For me, if I have something and then find that I

*really want to drink one every day*

This to me is a warning sign.

I think you are going to have to decide if its worth it to you. If I find I am becoming any food/drink substances ***** then, for me, its a sign I need to let it go.

Depending on the soda you are drinking too, some of that stuff is just full of bone eating chemicals.

It is bad for me!!
It leaves my stomach bloated and round!!
AND I drink it daily!!

I am just in the process of switching 'some' of it to Club Soda and lime... but I am not completely there yet...

Love my diet coke... no I 'should' not be drinking it...  but I don't smoke, do drugs, drink alchohol (on a regular basis), eat as much junk food as I used to, eat bread, rice, pasta, etc...  I don't __________ (you fill in the blank), and so I treat myself to my diet coke...

Yes it is bad, I do it anyway!!  I am a naughty girl and hubby will deal with me later...

Hugs,

Cindy

I don't do anything bad either except for the Diet Coke.  Also I hate Crystal Lite or any other kind of drink like that.  Ever since my surgery I just can't drink those  flavored drinks!  I know Diet Coke is bad for my bones and everything but..............I don't drink  coffee or any other caffeineted beverage.  When I drink pop I feel like it is a treat and causes me not  to snack.

Well then, you have justified it to yourself quite nicely!

Some stuff you just need to decide what you are going to do, because the doctors will say one thing and everybody has their own take on it!

I totally agree with "Some stuff you just need to decide what you are going to do, because the doctors will say one thing and everybody has their own take on it! ".

I too am a diet soda drinker & risked drinking it starting month 4.  I use it as a snack & to "fill me up" when I have head hunger.  I haven't found it to be a problem with my stomach and doesn't seem to have decreased my restriction.  But, that is my decision & everyone has to make the decision for themself.

If I am wrong, then so be it (I will cry a river of diet soda later) & I will have to reap the consequences ... But, I look at guidelines as just that.  Guidelines.  This is my life and my journey.  There is no cookie cutter - one size fits all.

ok ... I have stepped off my soapbox now.

I'm a big fat rule breaker and drink REGULAR, fully LOADED sugary SODA and have for a year with zero issue with my weight. I still have amazing restriction. . . I do drink Diet Shasta cream soda because it's sweetened with Splenda, but for the most part I have Mountain Dew code red every 2-3 days.

I can not drink anything sweetened with aspartame. I can taste that stuff for hours after I drink it. So, I avoid most diet sodas.

Every day...about the only rule I follow religiously around my diet coke drinking is that I don't do it when I eat and I always wait 30 min+ before I have anything to drink after eating.

Needless to say, water is the better choice.
