Cruzin the DS Forum.....
First off..... I'm not bashing the DS surgery or there forum. I know it's a very powerful and effective procedure and has an incredible success rate for both weight loss and knocking out Diabetes.
So.... I lurk on other forums every so often......but never really spent much time on the DS forum before.
Again..... a lot of success stories.....but......
- How much can they eat???? Seems like what I was eating pre-op??? I thought they had similar restriction cause they have a basic "sleeve".... although larger.... but still ?????
- And what's with the "Atomic Farts" a number of threads about nerve gas type farts????

DSers, like the rest of us, absorb carbs - and sometimes for some folks, they get super flatulence from simple starchy carbs and sugars.
Hey Brandilynn,
One girl said she ate a "Large" salad with two eggs and seven strips of bacon.
Another thread was about them meeting at Katz's deli in NYC and ordering a Pastrami Sandwhich with a couple of sides and soda ?????

Dsers (well, and some sleevers) also do not seem to have as much issue with drinking and eating (like me, the food will just flat back up into my throat, blurg). I think too, that is part of where their assumption that our experience will be like theirs (that we can/will eat as much as they) in the sleeve stretching arena. I do not think that was one of the guidelines to follow with them like it typically is with sleeves alone.
You know their malabsorption math is like 50% of protein and I think nearly 100% of the starchy stuff (they absorb nearly 100%, not they malabsorb it - I have been up a while and am more nonsensical than usual :}), but absorb hardly any fat at all? (probably you do)
Or are you just freaking out because now all you can think about is them and their huge dumps because of their huge meals? :{}
Oh, and just a side note about the atomic farts - even with me, if I eat too much sweet carby stuff (which is not typical, but it happens :} ) I get the ol stanky possumbutt farts with post fartum depression. I think not all of them react that way, but some definitely do! I guess its nice to have someone to share your atomic face erasing gas stories with folks.
One lady was cracking me up, she was on a plane and she farted and the passengers were giving folks around them the hairy eyeball because nobody knew who did the dealing, but they were all suffering! Definitely much funnier when its *your* stank, or if you are not trapped in the plane with the stank (or under the covers!).
Big food....Big Dumps..... Atomic Fats.......
While losing weight and kicking Diabetes......
Sounds like a way to go !!!
