News Flash - worlds worst couch potato beginning to enjoy movement
Have had a very physically active day for me and really loved it. Yesterday my house guest had brought her x box kinect so we did the horse jumping, skiing, steeple chase, ice skating and dancing and it was fun. Had seen a wi and didn't think much of it but this device has decent graphics and it senses all your movements - you don't need to hold a remote or anything. maybe all of you know all about this but it was new to me. Really had fun. Then, this morning was aikibojitsu martial arts class. Took my house guest along and convinced hubby to come watch. Well, houseguest was a star and our kind instructor convinced hubby to get in and try. He did pretty well and had a good time. so six people waving lethal sticks around all at once in a room not that big and we had a great time. Then off to shop for a new wedding band for hubby since he lost his in the recycle dump. boo hoo. Our aniversary is coming up and I mentioned it would be nice to have it by then. Found a nice one.
Next I was so energized I decided to clean out the garage. Unbelievable amounts of junk to be sorted and put in plastic tubs and then in the shed out back. Goal is to get a bunch of tools and such out of the house and into the garage where they can be located and used and to have garden and the most seldom used stuff in the shed. Got much of it done and a lot of trash tossed. So hubby wanted to go put air in car tires and I sent him with cardboard to the recycle center (knowing he would also probably hit burger king) and he came home via Kmart with a new x box kinect and said "Happy Anniversary"! Nice Surprise. He is such a sucker for electronics. I am gonna have to buy the horsey/ski game I want but its fun and I can see doing it daily.
Cooked a pot of low fat healthy chilli. Then after all that was practicing my aikibojitsu moves with my stick in living room and managed to avoid hitting the ceiling fan. May even start the x box again. Now I have always been the worlds biggest couch potato and I am still sore from yesterday's deep knee bends. Can this be me? Having fun in the living room. Diane

it is fun. it just plugs into one of the tv ports. we have a pretty new big tv. my husband is an electronics wiz so easy for me because he does it. it comes with one set of games that is fun but there are lots more to buy. i am going to go buy the motion sports one. probably won't get the dance one as its sort of hip hop stuff to lady gaga and too inane for me. now if they had one to 60's and 70's music or motown music, i might to it. you have to buy the x box and the kinect feature because that is the part that has the sensor so you can do all this movement without holding any kind of device and you control the games with motions of your hands or whatever. and it takes pictures of you doing this stuff and then shows them to you and they are hilarious. of course, i immediately delete them. and it puts your picture up on a giant screen like it would be if you were an athlete in a big stadium. also funny. you can also play with a buddy - we did downhill racing together. its nice to have a really big tv to run it on which we do because hubby is tv computer nut.
see if you can find some teenagers that have one and will let you try it out or go to some electronics store where you can try one out. would have never done it if my friend hadn't brought it and had me try it. and she and i can set it up so we can play the games together over the internet even though she is 300 miles away. don't know if i want pictures being anywhere on the internet.

It really sounds like fun. Probably couldn't get my DH to join in the fun, but that's ok. Our TV is 46", so not a bad size for something like this. He wanted a lot bigger and I explained how it just would be too big above the fireplace. The 46" is just perfect...IMO anyway!
I'm wondering if my kids have xbox. I know they have a wii, but not sure about x box. I can probably hook it up without problem. In our house, I'M the one who understands electronics - not a whiz at it, but have hooked up everything myself so far. My DH doesn't want to learn anything more. Even the tv remote - he uses the up/down and power buttons. Sometimes will actually enter the channel #, but to search on the guide or to figure out how to fix something because he pushed the wrong button - no way! LOL

your husband is like me. i find myself trying to change the channel only i am using the portable phone. my dh had the box hooked up in a short time but then you do have to do some sort of download to get updates and calebrate it and some stuff i don't get. get a teenager to do it or one of your kids. if they have a wi they will want to come try the xbox. i thought the wi was really lame and crummy graphics. 46 inch tv will be fine. i think ours is 52. our issue will be me wanting to do the x box and hubby wanting to watch sci fi on the tv. but last night i caught him playing one of the x box games. will be good for him to do some of this as he is mo worse than i was and should really have this surgery too. got my brother in nebraska talked into it. he will do it at Methodist in Omaha.

Yay for activity and fitness! I had mentioned before that I am dressing all the time now for fitness, with nice looking black leather sneaks and yoga style pants and a good supportive bra so that when ever a chance to exercise comes up I am ready to go.
Yesterday I bought some new rollerblades and began trying to get back in rollerblade shape again. I used to do a lot of rollerblading, but yesterday I could only manage about 10 minutes. I know if I keep at it I'll see progress!!
