Time for pathetic whining

Ok, I totally admit this is a ridiculous self indugent thing to whine about but since we have a no-holds barred policy on whining here goes. Losing all my excess weight is something I wouldn't trade for a million bucks. Love it. Even don't mind the saggy skin around my tummy and beneath my behind. Can live with it as it really doesn't show up in nice clothes. But I hate hate hate the wrinkles that have shown up in my face. Not just a few laugh lines but lots of crinkles in my cheeks. The one nice thing I used to have was good skin and managed to get to advanced middle age without many wrinkles. But those lost pounds in my face have really given it a prune look. Its the thing I hate the most about weight loss skin issues. I live in a moist climate and use heavy duty bear grease moisturizer all the time but I can't get these wrinkles to diminish. Anybody had their face sanded or a mini lift or anything? I hate this crinkle face. Makes me look my age. Phooey.   Diane

I decided today, while clothes shopping, that I'm going to save up for PS and my face is the first thing I'm going to fix.

I still think I look younger than my years though. That helps.

Me thinks I'm gonna pay attention to MacMadame research here.......

I was thinking "If" I do anything......I would consider some face work.... everyone has to see my face....I don't plan on many people seeing my ass.....

Microdermabrasion and peels can do wonders...just be sure to get a good dermatologist. Try to find one that doesn't want to upsell you on everything...just go at it slowly...you can always increase treatments if you like the results. Also, be prepared $$...

I also have lines & wrinkles but what bothers me is the SAG. I actually have little jowls

I would so like to have my face & neck lifted. all the body sag I can just live with but I want to have  nice face for ONCE in my life before I actually get old.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

as much as  i would love to have a tummy tuck to remove the muffin top that i can get sometimes in pants.. prob the one thing that bothers me the most is the loose skin under my chin not quite a turkey neck yet but still bad enough to bother me.

I totally understand you about the face situation.  Even though I am younger, I can see the increase in wrinkles around my mouth and eyes after WLS.  I really don't believe that anything short of PS will take it away.  Sigh..  As you know I had LBL and BL done earlier, it is much harder recovery than the VSG.  I wish I had a better solution than plastics, but I don't have one.  You are right, this is the one thing about weight loss that really sucks.

Oh, I just want to say that it really isn't the wrinkles that bother me. I have some laugh lines around the eyes and on the brow. But I think I'd look weird without them as a certain amount is normal as we age.

It's definitely the jowls that bug! Plus, I feel like when I bike, my face does that wobbly thing like when you jump out of a parachute!

Hey Diane,
I DID have my turkey waddle done :)  I felt so much better after that.  I had those jowls starting to form slightly, but what really bothered me was the diagonal profile formed by my turkey waddle.  It was quick and painless!  I also did the "girls" and a tummy tuck.  I've made peace with the rest of me(saggy butt, arms, inner thighs)  No one needs to see that, and hubby isn't complaining!

VSG on 06/08/09 with
Not ridiculous -- full face lift exactly a year after surgery.  I too can live with the sags and bags on the body, but the jowls and turkey neck had to go.  I am just thankful I was able to afford it.  If I don't undress, I look 20 years younger than I am.
