You know, I bet you just look so much healthier and happier that no one would connect your weight loss to the idea of  aids but I suspect some people have encountered that supposition. I have had more than one person sort of timidly ask about my weight loss; trying to be complementary but also making sure I have not been ill. There is a high breast cancer rate in this county and I have far too many friends who have had it. Weight loss decreases the risk of that, fortunately, but way too many have chemotherapy as the cause of extensive weight loss.

People tell me I look 10 years younger which i don't agree with because when the fat melted out of my face it left some wrinkles that weren't  there before. But I have also been told I look  much healthier. So its all good and I love hearing this stuff - can't hear it too many times. And about 10 people have said " you are not going to lose more, right?"  Thats good to hear too.

And speaking of assumptions and being an "artiste", since I am an artist and live in the so called "Emerald Triangle" people make all kinds of assumptions about what I do for recreation but t'aint so. Who needs the munchies.     Diane

The state auditors were paying their annual visit a few weeks ago and one of them took my boss to the side to ask if I had been ill.  After Tami told her (I don't keep this a secret for anyone, so don't expect anyone else to keep it a secret either), she was relieved.  She told her that she made the mistake of mentioning weight loss to someone once only to find out that the person had cancer. So she was afraid to say anything to me. 

I wish you would point your warm glow toward Iowa.  We could use a little warmer weather here.
