I have to say you caught me by suprise - how come I didn't think of that???
I think it is a great idea, it is like saving before over shopping :-)
I have a friend with lap band and I am always shocked how easy it is for him to just go to his doctor and open it and over eat. Your way is so much smarter!

sounds like a plan to me, I think we all have to find what works for us and if limiting the damage to make it easier on the other side works for you, then my thinking is dont fix whats not broken
for me i have been taking it off after the damage is done but this time i never went out side my 5lb range to my shock... but i will still take it down to the lower end of my limit... between thanksgiving and christmas, i went up 3lb now ill get them off, im pleased holiday season is over although i enjoyed my treats...

If it works, do it. I'm not at maintenance yet, so not sure how I would go about losing 2-3 pounds before a vacation, but worth a try once I get to that point.
I'm amazed that I kept losing (not much, but did lose) over the holidays. I'm joining a fitness center on Monday to get back on track and tighten up some of my shar-pei skin...I hope. Building muscle will also help me burn more calories.
I've set a goal of 11 more pounds by my surversary date of 2/23/11. Should be able to easily do it by getting back on track 99% of the time. No more sweets!
