Reflecting on Support Group Meeting-Long
yep, MacMadame inspired me with her internet account. I contacted her on line before surgery and got so much info. She was even kind enough to visit me in the hospital in San Jose when I had my surgery. So great because the surgery was so uneventful I was bored! So yes, the support element is very important and we all owe it to others to help out as we were helped. and it helps keep us honest too with our eating. gotta keep those skinny jeans fitting! no more worn out inseams! And BTW Jimbo, looks like you are getting real close to goal. i sense a party somewhere........D Hey Jimbo, very few have done what you have done and even though your losing phase continues you have every reason to celebrate and be proud of yourself. Lots of people with only 100 lbs to lose don't quite get there and I can tell you are going to get to that half of what you once were goal. No one has been more successful than you at this. As for the trip to Jamaica analogy, you are not in the roach motel in Wichita (and I have been to Wichita many times and it ain't that bad). YOu are more like in the taxi on the way to airport with ticket in hand. Only a little ways to go and you are on that beach with the rest. And those of us on that beach,( and I guess I am one as I am below goal and lost pretty close to half myself) we all have saggy skin and all our other faults and imperfections but celebrate being alive and in better health. And even though you are not quite to your goal you have come so far and you must feel about a million times better and be able to do so much more. I don't know if you have a blog page on OH but I am going to have my older brother look at it if you do. He is only about 5'9" and is close to 400 lbs with some comorbidities. I just had a big talk with him and he has seen my results and I think he isgoing to go ahead with this vsg in the midwest which will be wonderful. So I need him to see inspriational stories and yours is one heck of one.
Anyway, keep the faith and all that. You are almost there. 17 lbs isn't much compared to how far you have come. I think i see you in the distance on that beach approach............ D

I love our support group meetings. I always learn something. The whole "exponential" expansion of the sleeve was new to me also but it makes so much sense and explains a lot of what I see on the boards.
