Do you guys understand???
Thanks. While I understand that it really isn't all "about a number" ... the thing that scares me the most (and driving me freakin' crazy!!!!) is that my number is going back up, up, up. Friday it was 131.8. That's almost 6 pounds up in 2.5 weeks.
While I would love to say that I am 125, I'm ok with 130-135. What I am not ok with is watching the scale go up this much in such a short period of time when I'm doing the same things I did just a few weeks ago & LOST weight.
Make sense?

Revision from Sleeve to DS (with re-Sleeve) on 10/10/17. Slow and steady ...
I've been at "goal" of 155lbs (or less) for about 7 months. I set my goal there, but then adjusted it 10lbs lower. I've fluctuated within that ten lbs the whole time.
Sometimes I get OBSESSED with being at the lower end of that range. I start cutting back everything I eat - skipping meals, weighing food, etc. etc. etc. Typical pre-surgery diet behaviour. And it kinda freaks me out.
I have found (through my scale obsession), that what I eat doesn't really have a ton to do with the number that shows up. On days when I have been really "good", even back on my "losing" plan, I can sometimes go up 2-3lbs in a couple days. Then I'll have a bad weekend, too much wine, eating carbs, and drop that 2-3lbs plus a few more.
What I decided is that my scale obsession needs to be over. I do watch to keep myself in the 145-155 range. And I watch my clothes and my rib cage to make sure I still look healthy. And that's it. I don't want to get into the whole yo-yo diet minded obsession again...

I can tell you what I do.....I don't weight myself more than every 2 weeks...and usually only about once a month. It avoids all this consternation.
For my recent checkup with my surgeon, I weighed in at 180. Then, not 4 hours later, I had an appt with my PCP since I was taking the day off, I did both appts. the same day. I weighed 183 and my bp went up 14 pts. Now, everyone knows my weight and my bp didn't change that much in 3 hours. It really hammered home the dangers of weighing too often.

I always fluctuate within a 4 pound range. Plus, once you get down to the healthy BMI numbers, what really matters is your body composition. I can be 120 and my clothes are loose or 118 and my clothes are tight. I'd rather have lose clothes so I'm training myself to look at that and body fat % and not the number on the scale.
