Looks like you've gotten some good advice, but there is one other thing I'd sugges****ER.  Be very, very sure that you are drinking enough non-caffeinated, low/no calorie liquids throughout the day and throughout the party.  There is a lot of evidence to support tha****er helps burn calories as well as helping to control hunger.  I have noticed over the last 3 years that when I drink enough and consistantly, I don't feel the same hunger and my tummy gets full quicker.  I still stick to the rules about not drinking with meals and waiting at least 45 min. until eating again and so far it's still working for me.

Good luck and I hope you have a FANTASTIC time at the party!

well i really think you should go to the party and not let the food issues keep you a prisoner. You might have a protein shake or some dense protein before you go and make a point of going around visiting with as many people as possible every time you start thinking about the food table. and get a glass or water or tea so you have a drink to hold and keep drinking so you have to delay the eating part. As usual, Brandylyn had very insightful remarks and sure can't improve on them. yes we are all learning that maintenance may be the hardest part of this journey for some of us and thats what we are here for - to share this. I was wondering if you go to a support group? I recently asked my surgeon (who is big on follow up and support) if there are studies showing the impact of support and follow up and he said yes - that those with support and follow up definately do better long term. So in addition to this group I hope you have some other support mechanism available. It can indeed be scary out there! Diane
